Good Monday All!
Did you have a good weekend? Do anything fun? Read anything fabulous? If so, share with us!
My weekend was super busy with lots of writing and planning. Thanks so much to those who came by my Last Chance Rescue Facebook page on Saturday to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of RESCUE ME's release. If you didn't get a chance to read the post or test your knowledge with the trivia game, you can go over anytime and check them out. https://www.facebook.com/LastChanceRescuebooksbychristyreece Looking forward to chatting about RETURN TO ME next month.
May is deadline month for Zach and Savannah! Really hope you love these two characters and their sweet little town in Alabama. It's just too bad there's evil lurking there, too. (:
Speaking of sweet, I got a sweet treat on Friday when my editor started sending me photos of possible male cover models for the cover of the first book. Very inspiring, I must say! And one photo was Zach Tanner exactly. Chiseled jaw, sensuous mouth, steely gray eyes and thick, sandy-blond hair. I did a lot of smiling and sighing when I saw that photo. Can't wait for you to see him, too!
In between writing and chatting about LCR, I did finish Fifty Shades of Grey. And while I didn't fall head over heels for it like so many have, I definitely didn't hate it either. The emails in particular were fun. In fact, I'm already reading the second book. I can certainly see why this book isn't for everyone but I did find it to be a compelling read. Will be interesting to see how the movie is treated.
This month is going to be super busy for me. Deadline month always puts me in a bit of a panic and since I'm behind on my page count, I probably won't be online a lot. However, Recommend Monday is the exception. Never won't to miss out your great recommends!
And speaking of recommends, what did you read last week that you can't wait to tell us about?
Have a fabulous week everyone!

Hi Ms.Reece,
ReplyDeleteThis week I read "Thoughtless" by SC Stephens. It is a wonderful book but it is not a book for light reading romance. It is a edge of your seat white knuckle rollercoaster ride that will have you gripping the edge of your seat to the end.I finished it Friday and have not recovered from it yet. For those who love it there is a sequel called "Effortless" I am not recovered enough to go back into all the angst yet but,I will because I loved the first book.
Hi Christy and everyone,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the pics of Zach! And if you EVER need any help screening cover models, I will drop everything to provide immediate assistance. :-)
Oh, the sacrifices I am willing to make for you, Christy!
Busy weekend...I came back from NOLA and re-packed for the weekend at Kings Dominion with 4 little girls (and of course hubby). It was a crazy weekend, but the girls had a good time. Two more weeks until my daughter's actual birthday and we'll definitely be having some Georgetown Cupcakes! My friend told me just last night she needs to "put her order in" because the cupcakes went so fast last year she didn't get one! :(
On Hope's recommendation, I read the Jaycee Clark Deadly series and really enjoyed it! I also read Kristan Higgins Somebody to Love and it was a cute story.
Have a great week!
Hi Christy!
ReplyDeleteThe hubs and I took it easy this weekend, stayed home and grilled out.
Last week I read Nora Robert's Chesapeake Bay series and really enjoyed it. The first two books in the series were my faves :)
Thanks to Anne's review on GR...I read Sylvia Day's Bared to You, very spicy but I loved seeing Eva and Gideon try to put a relationship together.
I just started my first Catherine Mann book, Cover Me, this morning.
Happy reading everyone!
Hey Christy, normal weekend but fantastic week coming up, i hope! Am off to London with my mum and am really looking forward to it. First time that I am leaving the hubby alone with the kids :). They will do great!.
ReplyDeleteAm reading my first Colleen Gleason - Sanctuary of roses and am enjoying it a lot.
Alison , Chesapeake series is my favourite NR series. Love Ethan.
Christy exciting times coming up for you! Looking forward to your new books!
Hi Christy, Hi Everyoe,
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying a long weekend , because the 1st of May is a holiday here and our office is closed today so we all can have four days off.
So I had some time for reading and have a few recommends.
I read and liked:
"The witness" by Nora Roberts,
"Midnight sun" by MJ Frederick ( its setting is quite ununsual for a rs book as it takes place on a cruise to Antarctica but I really liked the hero Marcus who is considered a failure by his older and successful siblings, but proves them wrong when the ship is entered by pirates.)
Currently I am reading "She can run" by Melinda Leigh and I like it as well.
Christy,I hope we will get a sneak peak of Zach and Savannah´s story very soon and maybe a glimpse of those photos you mentioned.
Have a great week Everyone!
Hey everyone! After finishing the Rock Chic series, I started the Dream Man series, by Kristen Ashley. I've enjoyed this series too, with the first and last being my favorite. Several of the characters from Rock Chic make appearances, which is always a nice treat.
ReplyDeleteMy TBR continues to grow-I've just added Jaycee Clark, I have Witness sitting on my nightstand, Sue Grafton's V, and Dee Davis from last weeks recommends.
I can't wait for Zach and Savannah story, along with more Last Chance.
Rock on :D
Sam
Hey everyone!
ReplyDeleteChristy- I can't wait for Zach and Savannah's story.
I didn't get a lot of reading done, but what I did read was excellent.
Perfect Storm by Lori Foster, I loved this book. Can't wait for her new series (out in September, I think)
Twisted by Laura Griffin, I read this one in like half a day.I didn't want to put it down.
I have Fifty Shades on my TBR. We'll see if I'm one that hates or loves.
Well have a wonderful Monday!
Wow, these are great recommends everyone. Keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Gail, you certainly know how to describe a book to make a reader want to buy it! (:
LOL Kris, if I'm ever asked to screen cover models, you'll be the first person I call for assistance.
Alison, how cool that you bought a book based on one of Anne's fabulous reviews.
Luci, have a fabulous time in London. I'm so envious!
Elke, have a great day off. Is that May Day? Yes, I hope to share some things on Zach and Savannah very soon! Thanks for asking!
Sam, thanks so much. I'm excited you're looking forward to Zach and Savannah's story. And so glad you want to read more LCR books, too!
KC, will be interested if you're in the love or hate category on SOG. (:
Looking forward to Zach!
ReplyDeleteNot much reading going on. I loved Cherry Adair's "Afterglow".
Elke, I just picked up Midnight Sun, so glad you liked it. Now I must move it up on my TBE pile. It is also free on the Kindle at the moment

I finally made it! Last week was wild and the weekend was wilder. Keeping my fingers crossed this week S L O W S down.
ReplyDeleteGail, I'm in the middle of "Thoughtless" now. Oh my gosh! There have been times I wanted to scream and say not-so-nice-words directly at Kiera! I feel like I'm on a runaway train heading for the cliff. Fast and furious ride but entertaining!
Also, can't remember if I have plugged Nora Roberts's new book "Witness." If I havent', READ IT! If I have, it's worth another rec -- it's that good!
Christy, I think you should share some of those delish pics!!! So far I'm really really liking the description of Zach!
Tornado warnings and storms last night kept me up much of the night so I'm off to take a little nap. Hope everyone has a great week and enjoys lots of good reading time.
Hey Jackie! Thanks for looking forward to Zach and Savannah. Hope to be able to share more good stuff soon!
ReplyDeleteAnne, I wish I could share the pics. As soon as I get the go ahead, I definitely will. Hope this week is calmer for you. And I hope the storms are gone too!
Wow I've missed 2 Recommend Mondays!! What is wrong with me? I have no recommends, but I still usually drop in and say hi.
