Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

Wow, where did summer go? It's so hard to believe that it's almost gone. Schools have started back for many, Labor Day is coming up next week and soon Halloween decorations will be filling the aisles of stores. I am seriously concerned that no one but me seems to notice how fast things are moving. Maybe I'm living in some kind of time warp or is that mind-warp? LOL Hubby would probably agree with the warped mind part.

How was your week and weekend? See any great movies? Read any fabulous books? Do anything exciting and fun that you want to share? Tell us!

My week was super busy. My characters were practically screaming at me to get their words on paper. I'm not complaining though. Very happy they're talking to me!

This week is a major writing week for me. I've decided to try to finish CHANCES ARE by the end of this week. So, if things go well, I will write 150 pages and should have a full novella by September 3. Please wish me well! The sooner I can get it written, the sooner Angela and Jake will be on your e-readers!

BTW, if you're on GoodReads, a lovely lady and SWEET reader created a Last Chance Rescue group to chat about the books, upcoming stories and anything else LCR related. If you'd like to join, here's the link: Last Chance Rescue Goodreads Group

Thank you all so much for participating on Recommend Monday and please forgive my absence. I hope you understand and forgive me for not being able to answer and comment immediately on your posts. I promise you, it's for a good reason. I'm doing my best to get books out to you! Thanks so much for your patience.

Okay, that's it for me. Just a reminder to keep the people of the Gulf Coast--Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi--in your thoughts and prayers. So hoping Issac heads back out into the ocean and disappears forever.

Have a great week everyone. Now, tell us what we should be reading!

  1. Good morning Christy!
So excited that Chances Are might be finished do soon. Doing a happy dance!!
I haven't read anything lately and have a whole list of movies I'd like to see. On the top of that list is Taken 2. I'm so excited to see that. Well my *gulp* 31st birthday is quickly approaching and what better way to celebrate than traveling across the country? This is our last few days here in beautiful Snowmass, Colorado. I'm going to miss the mountains (and cool weather) terribly, but I'm starting to get excited about West Virginia.
Praying for everyone on the Gulf Coast. Hopefully Isaac decides it doesn't want to hit land.
Hope everyone has a great week and sending good writing vibes your way Christy!!

  2. Last week reads were some good ones. Read Janet Evanovich's Love in a Nutshell and loved it. I don't think I have not liked any of her books. She makes me laugh out loud. Right now I am about 1/2 through with The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks and loving it. Read Blind Lust by Annie Seaton and like it. Finished The Rising Storm by Kathleen Brooks(she is my new recommend for everyone). Her series the Bluegrass series and the Bluegrass Brothers is awesome. That is pretty much it. My TBR list for this week is: 2 books by Sydney Landon called Weekends Required & Not Planning on You. Also Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep. Will also pull some shorter stories from Amazon with any freebies for the week. Love Amazon & my kindle.

  5. Happy Monday everyone. This has been a crazy summer, and dare I say it, but I am ready for school to start. I NEED my schedules, and routines.

I was able to get a few books read last week, that I would love to share.

Sweet Dreams and Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley. She had the 4th in the series come out so I needed to catch up. LOVED them, I think LL is my fav of the series so far.

At Last by Jill Shalvis. Great addition to the series as well.

I am currently reading the 1st book in Susan Andersen's new series, That Thing Called Love. So far so good.

My baby starts highschool this year, so we will be attending a school function tonight to get ready for all the fun-ness. Not sure if I am elated or want to cry.

    Have a wonderful week ladies.

  6. Hello all, it has been awhile since I was here. Christy I am so very anxious to read some more of your work. Looking forward to Chances Are!

I have read the Dream Man trilogy by Kristen Ashley. I really enjoyed them but did not realize I needed to now read Rock Chicks and then the follow up Trilogy call Chaos. One thing is one is never short on reading material.

I have started a new project. It is a blog where we can talk about books we have read. Christy I have put you under favorites on this site. It is www.booktalkromance.com.

I only have two entries on the blog right now since I was sick for a couple of weeks. I hope all of you will take a look. Remember it is a work in progress. Leave a comment if you so desire. Christy where can I find the cover to chances are? I would like to put it up on the site.

I will be ready Christy Craigs new book Blame is on Texas which I believe is book one in a series. The next one is Texas Hold 'Em.

Have a great week and be careful this labor day week end. Don't forget I was orginally JeannieK on here.

  7. Hey Everyone!

Crystal, hope you had a fabulous birthday! And Taken 2 is definitely a movie I'm looking forward to. Loved the first one! I hope your move to West Virgina goes smoothly.

Chrisbails, I've heard The Lucky One was very good. And Janet Evanovich has such a wonderful witty sense of humor. Can't not laugh while reading her books.

Hi Missy, I've heard good things about the Last Chance series and Nina Bruhns writes some great books, too.

KC, Hell on Wheels and Forever and a Day is on my reading list. Really looking forward to both of them. Haven't heard of Hearts in Darkness. Will check that one out.

Hi Hope, great recommends! Hope the first week of high school went well for your baby.(:

Hi Booktalk, will have to check out your book blog. Good luck with it and thanks for listing my books as some of your favorites! I don't have a cover for CHANCES ARE yet. As soon as I do, I'll be sure to post it.

Running late today but will be posting Recommend Monday soon. Hope you'll come by!
