Recommend Monday

Good Monday All!

How was your week? Were you impacted by Sandy? My heart aches for all those hurting. Seeing those horrendous photos of devastation is just so very sad. If you were touched by the storm, I pray your recovery is swift and painless.

Last week I concentrated most of my efforts on MIDNIGHT LIES. Deadline looms and the entire town of Midnight is on pins and needles as we head toward to a screeching, volatile ending. Wish us luck that it works out well for everyone.

On Saturday, I attended the Southern Magic Readers Luncheon, which is my home chapter's readers' appreciation event held here in Birmingham. Sherrilyn Kenyon was the keynote speaker and Dianna Love the welcome speaker. We had a record attendance and such fun. Two regular commenters here, Jackie P and Kara attended and I was thrilled we got to hang out together. Such a good time!

Next year, the luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 2. So excited that NYT Bestselling Author Jeaniene Frost will be the welcome speaker. And I was thrilled and honored to be invited to be the welcome speaker. Would love to see you there if you can make it.

This week, I'm focusing solely on MIDNIGHT LIES. I'm loving Quinn and Samantha so very much and I hope you will too. Can't wait to give this couple the HEA they deserve.

Okay, that's it for me. I'm headed back to my writing cave that I hope will transport me to Midnight, Alabama where it's about to get really steamy! (:

Have a great week everyone. And if you're in the US, don't forget to vote tomorrow!

Now, tell us what great books you read last week!

  1. Good morning,
Having a great weekend on Hilton Head Island. Today's our last day and I'm already dreading the long ride home. My daughter brought a friend, so it's been very relaxing for me and hubby.

    Recommends:
    Scorched, Laura Griffin
    Hard Core, Jennifer Lowery
    both were very good!

  2. I found a couple of great books. I had seen this series and author before, but did not buy the book. I again came acroos and decided since she is putting a new book out and had lots of great book recommendations that I should try. I am so glad that I did because now I have a new obsession. Her name is Olivia Cunning and her series is the Sinners on Tour series. I got the first book for my kindle and read and could not put it down. I finished the book in about 16 hours. I was a complete slacker at work and read atleast 1/2 of my shift(don't tell my boss) and then stayed up way late and finished it.
The first book of the series is called Backstage Pass. This is a series about a rock band called The Sinners. The first book is about one of the guitar players, Brian, and he just got cheated on by his girlfriend. He meets up with a college professor that is a big fan of their group. She has a crush on him and sparks fly. I then had to go buy the next book of the series called Rock Hard and this book is about the lead singer, Sed, and he is hot. Quite a few years previous he had his heart broke by his ex-girlfriend and now just constantly uses women(they want him to use them though). This was also a great book, I still liked the first better. The new book comes out tuesday called Double Time and this is about the other guitar player in the band. A definate must read series.

  4. Hi everyone!

My sister lives in NYC so I was texting her all the time last week to see if is was ok. She's one of the lucky ones, no damage to her apt and she didn't lose power.

I read some really good books last week...Scorched by Laura Griffin, The Warrior by Margaret Mallory and The Recruit by Monica McCarty.

    Happy reading everyone!

  7. Good Morning all!
Christy, I'm so glad you, KK & Sista J were able to spend the weekend together. What fun!
I'm still recovering from Emerald City, but since I was there I picked up several wonderful books: two of note were Margaret Mallory's THE WARRIOR and Laura Griffin's SCORCHED...both continuing in series that I love.
I wish everyone a happy week!

(If you guys have questions for Ella/Christy she posted on FB under Ella that she'll answer your questions if you have any so be sure to post your questions so she can answer them on Friday. My little advertisement. I'm excited to hear her answers.) ANYWAY.....
I know Shelly and Ronlyn have mentioned this and big thanks to Shelly for sending me the first of this series... I read the first 3 in Donna Grants Dark Sword series.
    Dangerous Highlander
    Forbidden Highlander and
    Wicked Highlander
I've already got the next one and can't wait to get started on it as well. I'm not usually a paranormal fan, but Donna Grant writes these with enough class I truly am enjoying them!

  11. Hi Christy, Hi Everyone,

I just saw on television that the situaiton in N.Y. after Sandy is still difficult - I hope you all are safe and warm by now.

As most of you recommended Laura Griffins "Scorched" already - I just add that I liked it as well , but my fav. Tracer book is "Snapped" ( I did a reread after reading "Scorched")

I just started "Chilled"by Kendra Elliot( a new to me author) and I am already hooked - its fast paced and I am having trouble to put it down, I think I am in for a short night.

Christy, good luck with your writing cave - and give Blossom a good body rub from me ( I hope she is doing well).

    Happy reading Everyone!

  12. Late but made it!! By this time, I hope Christy has settled into Midnight and things are moving along well.

This past week was a slow read one for me. Started my physical therapy and it wiped me out! Read a couple of freebies off of Amazon's list -- nothing to recommend. I'm just starting Laura Griffin's "Scorched" and so far enjoying it -- as I have all the others in the Tracer series.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

  13. Hi everyone!

On the road for work this week, so need to be quick.

Last week I read Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. This book is good, but rough. Not for the faint of heart in what this couple goes through to get their HEA.

    Have a great week everyone!

  15. Always, always I am late! Sigh... Must have needed yesterday to recover from my lightening speed road trip this weekend. As always, it was so much fun seeing you, Christy! Sherrilyn Kenyon was a great speaker.
I am continuing my efforts to catch up on my Laura Griffin reads. Right now, I'm reading Twisted, and even though I haven't finished it, I can tell it will be highly recommended, as most of hers are.
    Have fun in Midnight. :-)

  16. We lost power due to Sandy and didn't have a chance to do any reading this last week. Hopefully I'll get started on Laura Griffin's "Scorched" soon.
