Was last week fabulous for you? I know mine was and I'm still smiling!
How was your weekend? Did you have a glorious Easter? Hunt eggs? I spent yesterday with my family and it was so much fun. Lots of laughter and too much food. My kind of lovely.
How about you? Did you read anything wonderful that you want to share with everyone?
As for me, I kind of cheated. On Thursday, I received my first copy of LAST CHANCE. It's absolutely gorgeous! And you guessed it--I read it again! And you know what? I loved it again! Yay!
So I'm recommending that in 22 days, you should grab a copy of LAST CHANCE. *snort* Okay, no throwing tomatoes at the author. Okay?
Tell us what fabulous books you read last week. And also, since this week has some great new releases, tell us what you're most looking forward to grabbing a copy of and reading.
I'm going to be writing most of the week. SWEET REVENGE is due in less than three months. Wow! This year has flown by! I've got to get cracking.
Hope you all have a wonderful week and I'm looking forward to hearing what you're recommending, what you're reading and anything else you want to share.
Have a marvelous Monday!
Happy Monday Christy!
ReplyDeleteI'm scrambling around my desk this morning trying to find the various items that wander off when I'm not here to protect them (pens, stapler) and trying to get rid of the items that come to take theie place. I mean, who needs 7 legal pads on their desk?? Not me. LOL.
My boys had a fantastic weekend visiting with their great-great aunt Marty and gorging themselves on chocolate. I relent my nutrition rules on the holidays and let them have chocolate for breakfast. They love it. LOL.
I'm reread some Suzanne Brockman, oldies but goodies. I have a book on hold at the library, but I can't remember what it is. I got the notice just before we left town, so I'll have to stop and grab that on my way home this eve.
Hope you have a fantastic Monday!
Hi All
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Easter. I read Cold Midnight by Joyce Lamb.
Rom. susp. about a tennis player
whose career is cut short. It was great. Reading Crossfire by Joann Ross (2nd in the High Risk series).
I must be in a rom. susp. mood. I wonder who is to blame for that LOL.
I know I am behind a lot of you but I JUST finished my copy of "No Chance". I absolutely LVOED it, Christy! I can't wait to start the second one now!! If I time it right, the last one will be out and I can read them all in a series!
ReplyDeleteRight before this I had finished Worst Case by James Patterson. It was good, about his detective character, but I do like his other character, Alex Cross, better.
I also just picked up three new books at the library. There are never enough hours in the day to get everything read!!
Hope your Easter was wonderful! Have a great day. Beautiful weather here!
Ronlyn, I have at least 7 legal pads on my desk and I need every one of them. LOL. At least I tell myself I do. I love legal pads and pens and pencils. All sorts of 'officey' (new word of the day!) stuff.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your weekend was fabulous and how cool you let your boys have chocolate for breakfast on holidays. That makes them all the more special and fun!
Good recommends Can never go wrong with a Suzanne Brockmann oldie!
Enjoy your day!
Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We got about 8-10 inches of snow over the weekend. This was my first Easter that involved snow. I'm use to cold and rainy Easter days, but the snow was a first. It looks like we'll be getting some more tonight. So hopefully you all have had great Spring weather going on!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway down to business! I read Early Dawn by Catherine Anderson, Take No Prisoners by Cindy Gerard, and Tempt me if you can by Janet Chapman. All three books were pretty good. Have a SWEET week everyone!
Hey Mary G. Wow. Romantic suspense and tennis. Two of your favorite things! How cool. Love that title too: Cold Midnight. Sounds great!
ReplyDeleteJoAnn Ross is fabulous! Enjoy!
Have a great week!
Hey Laura! I'm thrilled you enjoyed NO CHANCE! Thanks so much for letting me know. Hope you enjoy SECOND CHANCE too!
ReplyDeleteHaven't had the CHANCE to read James Patterson yet. I've seen a couple of movies based on his books and really enjoyed them. Need to branch out to read him soon. Thanks for the recommend.
Have a fabulous week!
Hey Crystal! Oh my. Snow on Easter? How on earth can you hunt eggs in that much snow? (: Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great reading week. Thanks for the recommends!
Hope you have a SWEET week too!
I lucked out there Christy. I bought it from the back cover blurb which mentioned athletic career. I didn't know it was about tennis till I got home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Monday Christy and Everyone.
ReplyDeleteWe had a mini easter egg hunt in our flat yesterday. Took nearly 2 hours to find them all and it was great fun.
We ended our day with a chinese picnic on the living room floor watching Disney DVDs!
My books this week were:-
Lover Avenger by J.R Ward
Pleasure by Jacqueline Frank
Dark Hunter Vol 2 (manga style) by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole
Not sure what i plan to read this week......i'll have to see what grabs my eye :) LOL
HELLOOOOO MONDAY! Wow - I'm pooped & stuffed from the weekend. Too much birthday cake, chocolate dipped strawberries and way too many chocolate bunnies! The weekend was packed full of lots of fun, friends, and a family Easter egg hunt.
ReplyDeleteLast week I read "A Kiss to Kill" by Nina Bruhns. This was the final book in her "Dangerous Passions" series and WOW WOW WOW! It was a fantastic conclusion!
Also, finally finished "Shattered" by Karen Robards. I had trouble getting into the book originally and I think it was due to my preoccupation and numerous interruptions. Restarted and completed with a positive outcome. I enjoyed this suspenseful new book by Robards.
Mary G - I checked out Joyce Lamb's "Cold Midnight" and I'm off to the UBS to pick it up, along with two others of hers, "Caught In the Act" and "Found Wanting". By the way, she has a new book scheduled for release on June 1, 2010, entitled "True Vision." Thanks for the new author recommendation!
Christy - hopefully the "voices" are charming and relinquishing their stories unselfishly!
I read a couple of great books over the weekend, including "Second Chance," and Victoria Dahl's "Lead Me On."
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone,
ReplyDeleteSince, I was off from work this past week, I didn't do much reading. I visited my friend in Florida and I had a wonderful time.
Right now, I'm reading Strong, Sleek and Sinful by Lorie O'Clare.
Mary G., I read Cold Midnight and I liked it.
Hi Anne
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great birthday & Easter. Wow I never realized the pressure of reccing books. What if you don't like Joyce Lamb?
Thanks Alexandra for coming to my rescue with Cold Midnight. Proves it's not a fluke.
I am like Oklanannie, "Kiss to Kill" was excellent!!!! I think that is all I have read except I reread Stephanie Tyler's trilogy again. I am at this moment without a book. And the library is closed today and I didn't see anything interesting at Walmart and all of this saddens me. But on a great high note in 22 days I will have "Last Chance" in my hands to read!
ReplyDeleteJust had a nice relaxing weekend with a little cookout and some jellybeans! Yum!
Oh, and we avoided the pollen cloud that looked like smoke at all cost!
Kerry, your Easter Sunday sounds like such fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, you had some excellent paranormal reads! Hope you find something to read this week but hope it doesn't grab your eye. That sounds painful. (:
Have a great week!
Hey Oklanannie! Sounds like you had the perfect birthday weekend. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed A Kiss to Kill. I know thousands have been looking forward to this last book in her trilogy. Sounds like it was worth the wait.
Thanks for the recommend on Shattered. And no, those voices aren't cooperating today. I'm giving them a stern warning and the night off. Tomorrow, they'd better be ready to talk. Or else!
Have a great week!
Hey Jane! So glad you enjoyed SECOND CHANCE. Thanks for recommending it. (:
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about Lead Me On. Thanks for the recommend on it too.
Have a great week!
Hey Alexandra! Hope you had a great time in Florida and had good weather. Sounds so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteStrong, Sleek and Sinful. Wow! What a great title. Enjoy!
Have a great week!
Hey Jackie! Another recommend for A Kiss to Kill. Sounds like a book we're all going to want to read.
ReplyDeleteAnd now you're without a book! Want some recommends? What are you in the mood for? You've come to the right place. We'll all be glad to help you out. (:
A cookout and jellybeans, huh? Fun!
Have a great week!
Mary G - don't worry about the pressures of reccing Joyce Lamb to me! If I don't like the books, I'll return them to the UBS where I got them. I'm a sucker for a sports-related book and along with it being a romantic suspense, I'm willing to take the CHANCE! I read some really good reviews on amazon.com on her books.
ReplyDeleteHey, I made it through another Monday! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI WAS reading Remember Me by Laura Moore, and loving it. Unfortunately, I left it at my mom's while visiting for Easter. Leave it to me to forget a book titled Remember Me. Sheesh...
And now...I got nothin'. I mean, I have tons of books stacked up around here to read, but can't decide which to read first. I do have a copy of Cold Midnight, and I've read a couple of Joyce Lamb's other books and liked them, so maybe I'll go that direction.
Oklanannie,
Glad you liked Shattered. I've had that happen to me with other books.
Hope everyone had a good day. The weather here is beautiful, but as one friend said, "My next car will be the color of pollen. That way, it will look great even in the Spring. LOL
You forgot a book called Remember Me. Oh Kara, thank you for that marvelous laugh. I so needed it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I've heard that's a great book. I hope you get it back soon. (:
The weather here is lovely too. Low 80's and abundant pollen...I mean sunshine!
Glad you made it through another Monday. Hope you have a great week!
Yes we grilled out jellybeans! No, just kidding. We cooked hotdogs and hambergers and my SWEET hubby got me my favorite jellybeans!!!! He knows he wins brownie points with books and jellybeans!
ReplyDeleteSo who is the author with the sports books? I wonder if Rachael Gibson's new hockey book is out? hmm.
Kara
ReplyDeleteForgetting a book you're in the middle of is cringe-worthy. Poor you. Hope you can get it back soon.
Hi Jackie
ReplyDeleteRachel Gibson's new book is out April 27. We'll get a chance to read Christy's first LOL.
Deirde Martin's is out May 4. No athlete but connected to her hockey guys.
Hi Christy,
ReplyDeleteI read No Chance and Second Chance over the weekend. Was trying to wait until Last Chance was out and read them back to back, but it was not to be. They kept calling my name, so I had to give in and read them. Loved them. Read one Friday and the next on Saterday. Got to see my girl, she drew me a gaint easter egg. She lost her first tooth, told her mom that should be worth $5 from the tooth fairy. Hope you had a great Easter and a great weekend.
Robin
Thank you, Mary G.
ReplyDeleteHello Christy,
ReplyDeleteI loved 'Second Chance', the first, second and currently the third time that I am reading it! (This is not unusual, I have read all your books at least two times!) Your books fire and satisfy my literary hunger...waiting for the 'Last Chance' is like arriving at my favorite dining establishment and seeing a sign posted on the door "closed till April 27,2010. LOL
Linda, thank you so much. What a lovely thing to say. I'm thrilled you enjoyed SECOND CHANCE and also that you reread all of my books! That's about the highest praise you can give an author.
ReplyDeleteLAST CHANCE will be here soon. Only 21 days to go!
I so appreciate your kind words and hope you enjoy LAST CHANCE when it arrives. Be sure to drop by often here. We always have lots of recommendations for great reads!
Enjoy your evening!
