Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fabulously fun? Did you read anything you want to shout out to the world with a "You have got to read this book!" enthusiasm?

I posted the SWEET JUSTICE excerpt last week. Did you get a chance to read it? If not, take a look at it (it's in the post below this one) and let me know what you think. Other SWEET news I'd hoped to share was that SWEET REWARD was going to have an earlier release date than what was originally planned. I talked with my editor last Monday and we discussed the possibility of SWEET REWARD being released in December. That would mean three SWEET books this year. Glad I didn't share that news because the next day, I heard it had changed to January. And now, though we know it'll be coming, the release date is still up in the air. As soon as I know for sure, I'll let you know.

On Friday, I got a sneak peek at the cover for SWEET JUSTICE and all I can say is, "Oh. My. Gosh!" It's gorgeous! It's a completely different look for the LCR books. Both my editor and agent love it too. With a few slight adjustments, I think this one will be it. I cannot wait to share it with you. Stay tuned!

I'm still in the midst of revisions for SWEET JUSTICE. Gearing up for the big emotional scene. I've read this book through at least a half dozen times and still I sob. I've never done that with any of my books before but with Honor and Seth...I don't know. Something about their story and struggles really touches me. I hope it touches you too.

After revisions are done (they're due next Monday!) I'll return to SWEET REVENGE where I left Jamie staring in awe of Dylan. And Dylan none too happy about that either. Can't wait to see what these two have been up to since we last visited.

And though I have the back cover blurb for SWEET REVENGE all ready, I'm going to wait a while to reveal it. So stay tuned for that too!

I have no reading recommends this week but I did visit BAM over the weekend where I picked up the following: Monica McCarty's The Ranger, Joyce Lamb's True Colors and Teresa Medeiros's Goodnight Tweetheart. All three look fabulous!

Okay, that's it for me this week. I'm going to be offline most of the week polishing up Seth and Honor's HEA. If you have a question, email me at christy@christyreece.com or message me on Facebook or Twitter.

Can't wait to see what everyone is recommending today.

Have a wonderful week everyone. Stay safe and warm and read a great book!

  1. Happy Monday MLK Day!
I'm glad to have a day off (so to speak, as it's gearing up to be a busy one). We had a dance workshop this weekend up past Baltimore. The girls had a great time and we took over the hotel lobby Sat night for a pool/pizza party. Has anyone ever had Chocovine? It's chocolate wine and some of the dance moms like it. I'm a huge fan of chocolate, but I like my wine dry not sweet, so this wine didn't do it for me!

I just finished reading Christy Ridgway's Then He Kissed Me. This is the second in the Baci sisters trilogy. Set in Napa around a failing winery. I'm really liking this series and I can't wait for the final installment. It's just a really fun read and I highly recommend the series.

Christy, I can't wait to see the cover and I'm so excited for the new books to be out. They can't get here fast enough for me!!!!

  2. Hi Christy! GOOD new about the SWEET series! I so hope all three get released in 2011! I actually do have some books I'm very enthusiastic about. I've been reading the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series the past week and I can't get enough! I know these are older books (and I had to scouring the internet to get them!) but if ANYONE out there has not read them, you really, REALLY have to. lol I'm on the 7th story and I don't want it to end.

I hope everyone has a great week!

  3. Hi All
So great about your cover Christy!

True Colors – Joyce Lamb – Just awesome! Second in the series but so fresh & wonderful all over again. Villain is so whacked but very interesting premise.

    Enjoyed:
Hidden – Tara Taylor Quinn – good rom. Susp.
Then He Kissed me – Christie Ridgway Fun second in the series.

I found Vision In White by Nora Roberts for $8.00 so I went for it. I literally smiled through the whole book. Chapters had tons of coupons this week so I splurged on the second one Bed Of Roses – Loved it too. I had to buy the #4–it was on sale 40% off. So now today I have to go get Savor the Moment – the 3rd one LOL before I can read the last one.
Reading & loving Yours For the Taking – Robin Kaye

  4. Happy Monday everyone. Love the days that sleeping in is almost a law, so glad to say that I didn't break the law today :) Loved the blurb on the new "SWEET" book, Christy, and can't wait for the new cover.

I had some good reads last week.

Finished Fatal Justice by Marie Force...if you haven't read this series, it is a MUST read. love it!!!

Also finished Into the Storm by Suzanne Brockmann, and really loved it, continuing in the TS series.

I read another book too, but I won't recommend it, cause I didn't like it but it was a must read for me cause it was continuing a series was was engrossed with.

I have moved on to a new author...Valeria Maarten, I am in the middle of The Gift of Joy, a holiday book, but pretty good so far.

Have a great week everyone....We will be heading to California on Thursday night for a karate tournament, going to be another busy week.

P.S. Is anyone planning or wanting to attend Lori Foster's event in June? Kris and I are going and I think Mary too, just seeing if any other RP's are going.

  5. Good Morning all! This weekend went by in a blur for me. Friday my hubby man went out with the guys, which he does once every blue moon, so I had an evening with my boys (and Aly via skype! LOL) and we didn't *do* much of anything. Saturday I had a meeting while Hubby man took the kids to a birthday party, both events managed to eat up a large chunk of the day. And Sunday we did some yard work and lounged around the house watching football. I did however look at my house this morning and decide that my de-cluttering project MUST continue. My house is way too small to have all that *stuff* in it.
This week I re-read Marie Force's Fatal Justice and did a re-read of Celeste Bradley's The Pretender. I know I've mentioned Celeste's "The Liars Club" series before, but I'm doing it again. They're historical, but not a "typical" historical voice. Very fun characters. I started on The Imposter last night.
And, I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Shadowfever, which is the final book of KMM's FEVER series. Yes, it's paranormal and in first person, so it's an auto-OUT for some of you, but I LOVE this series.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

  6. Roller coaster much, Christy? LOL! "All three books this year. Well, maybe January. Well, who knows?" You. Big. Tease.
I cannot wait to see the cover. Yet more teasing on your part.
I, too, have The Ranger and True Colors to read! This week I read the first Lisa Kleypas Wallflower book and the third Nora Roberts' Bride Quartet book. I finished (drum roll please), my VERY FIRST KINDLE read - Marie Force's Fatal Justice. Of course, it was fantastic, and highly recommended to all.

  7. Morning Christy,

I've spent the past week with my boyfriend Barney, cleaning and getting ready to lay new floor in kitchen/dining room.
Since getting a Kindle I've downloaded some free books one of which is "House of Dark Shadows by Robert Liparulo" since then I've picked you 3 more of his books in the same story. It's not what I normally read but found myself rooting for these kids and the strange house.

I'm so waiting for the "Sweet" books, I have them per-ordered and a promise from both Barney and my Mom to get them and leave me alone to read.

  8. Good Morning everyone! Happy MLK day to everyone also. My family an I didn't do much this weekend. We had a couple over for supper a couple nights so I am doing some clean up. My hometown had a soldier killed this month and via FB and the internet I got to witness a small community ban together to show their support and keep some very unwanted protesters away. It was pretty amazing!
Last week I read the 10th Virgin River book Moonlight Road. It was a good book. I'm really enjoying this series.
I also started (as promised) Lisa Kleypas Wallflower series. #1 Secrets of a Summer Night. It was really good and I am now reading the 2nd one. I'm really glad I listened to everyone and started reading them. So thanks everyone for recommending it.

  10. Hi Christy, hi all
no recommends from me this week because I didn´t read something new, but reread some of my favs by Cindy Gerard .

Christy I hope the revision of SWEET JUSTICE goes smoothly and you will have time to share more SWEET NEWS with us - the next cover blurb may be ?

Kris you mentioned a series by Christy Ridgeway. As friends of us run a winery I would like to check whether this series is available via amazon. Can you give me the title of the first book in this series ?

Hope, how did you like Izzy ? I think he had his first appearance in "Into the storm". He became one of my favourite characters in the TS series and I am really glad that the waiting for his book is almost over.

Have a great week everyone !

  14. Hi All!

I didn't get much reading done this week, but I hit the used book stores pretty hard!

I'm reading Shiloh Walker's Fragile right now and really enjoying it so far. I'm going to pick up the second book in the series up tonight after work.

Hope everyone has a good week!

  20. Just to be random - thanks everyone for the wonderful recommendations! My poor To-Be-Read bookshelf keeps expanding!

The books I finished this week:

*Sharpshooter in Petticoats - Mary Connealy

The final book in an epic series, this certainly lived up to all my expectiations.

*Always Look Twice - Geralyn Dawson

The last book in the Callahan Brothers trilogy - the continuation will be released under her new pen name Emily March.

    *Instant Attraction - Jill Shalvis

My first book by this author and certainly not my last! Both witty and fun, I plan to read the 2nd book of the Wilder series ASAP.

    *Skin Heat - Ava Gray

The 3rd book of the Skin series, the hero of this book was amazing!

*Too Good To Be True - Kristan Higgins

With her signature humor, Kirstan Higgins was simply fantastic!

  21. Always a day late -- but I did have a very relaxing and quiet weekend. Lunch on Saturday with some old high school friends and a couple of good books to keep me happy the rest of the time. And yesterday I attended the MLK parade with some office friends. Lots of bands and a "I've Got a Dream" contest presented by the area high schools.

I reread "Line of Scrimmage" by Marie Force because it was time to do so again. I love that book. I also reread "The Sweet Gum Tree" for comfort. And, finally, I've started the reread of Christy's Last Chance Rescue series. It's been awhile since I've read the first three and I needed a good dose of romantic suspense.

I'm looking foward to SEP's visit in Tulsa this week, along with reading her new book, "Call Me Irresistible".

Can't wait to see the new covers, Christy! I'm so glad and excited to hear that you're so pleased.

Snow's in the forecast. Got to go to the grocery store! Wishing everyone a great week!

  22. Hey everyone! What a crazy weekend. Its one of those weekends that are so busy, that you cant wait to get back to work so you can just sit down. lol Good news is that I was able to sneak some reading into all the chaos. I finished Fatal Affair and am now half way through Fatal Justice by Marie Force. I just loved all the twists and turns. Then I decided to put some of the action aside for Heated Rush by Leslie Kelly. It was a really good "if you wait, they will come" kinda romances.

Off to finish Fatal Justice and find some new reads for the week.

Cant wait to see the cover Christy!!

  23. Hey all! Sorry I was MIA all week but had to spend some quality time with Seth and Honor. And I'm so proud of myself because I only teared up three times during the dark moments. (I may be growing up!)

Even though I haven't been around, I read your comments and looks like you guys did just fine without me. Love to see all those recommendations and shout outs for great reads!

Thanks for all the encouraging words about the SWEET books! I'm so glad to see the excitement for the covers and back cover blurbs. Just makes me even more excited myself. LOL If that's possible. And thanks to those who have pre-ordered SWEET JUSTICE and SWEET REVENGE. You all are so SWEET!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I'm hunkering down and plan to finish up revisions to send off on Monday. Then it's back to Dylan and Jamie. Can't wait to see if they've made up yet!

See everyone back here on Monday for more great recommends. Stay safe and warm!
