Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All and Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Year's Day and you're ready to move past the excitement into an absolutely wonderful 2011. I know I am!

A new year has such promise, and 2011 looks to be a banner year for many things and a busy one. As for me, I plan to write three books and a short story, attend at least 2 conferences (Romantic Times in Los Angeles and RWA in New York), make some changes to my website and oh yeah, do some major promotion for two SWEET releases! Woohoo!

Last week I finished up the synopsis for SWEET REWARD. First time ever I got all teary-eyed over a synopsis, but the ending was just so SWEET! I'm was already in love with Jared Livingston from seeing glimpses of him in SWEET JUSTICE, and now that love has only grown stronger. And Mia Ryker is a real match for him. Funny, but most times my couples are kind of opposites. Not only does that make for interesting, volatile scenes, I love seeing them find their commonalities and then fall in love. With Mia and Jared, it's a different world. They are so much alike, there's immediate antagonism. And, of course, they're assigned to work a case together. Oh, that Noah McCall is a devious one, isn't he?

Since last week was such a busy work one, I didn't get a CHANCE to read anything new. However, I did manage to drop by the bookstore on the way home from church yesterday and picked up the following: Allison Brennan's first book in her new Lucy Kincaid series, Love Me To Death, Cherry Adair's Undertow and Kat Martin's Against The Wind. They all look great and I plan to start one of them this week!

What about you? Any fabulous reads over the holidays you can't wait to tell us about? For those of you with new e-readers, what books have you downloaded and are excited to read? And for those who received bookstore gift cards, any exciting buys you want to tell us about?

Don't forget about tomorrow's special guest. I'm so excited Marie Force is chatting with us tomorrow about her new release, Fatal Justice, which is the second book in her Fatal series. Congrats to her on today's release! I noticed it's already been downloaded to my Kindle. I'm sure it's going to be a sexy, suspenseful, fun story with Sam and Nick falling in love and solving another intense crime.

I'll be off-line most of the day working on SWEET REVENGE. Had to take a few weeks off and now Dylan and Jamie are chomping and growling, ready to get back to their story. I think I've become their peacemaker. (:

Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday! Can't wait to see what you're recommending today!

  1. Good Mornging Christy!! I feel like I've been MIA forever, but I'm hoping thing settle down now that the holiday season is behind us.
I'm trying to thin out my TBR pile, so I've read a few Roxanne St. Clare (Bullet Catchers), a coupld old Susan Anderson stories, Robyn Carr (more VR...good comfort reads when I needed them), and now am reading a Carla Neggers who is a new-to-me author. Always lots of fun stuff to read.
Hope you have a great day!

  2. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone...Christy glad to hear that your new SWEET book is coming along SWEETly. I can't wait to meet the new pair.

I didn't get a ton read last week cause we were at a big karate tournament where my son took FIRST place in weapons...that's right, I am the mother of a world champion, get a little teary eyed just typing that :)

I read Marie Force's Fatal Affair and LOVED it. I totally heart Nick, hubba hubba. Luckily I didn't have to wait long for the next book to come out, the release day is today. Downloaded Fatal Justice just this morning.

I also read the 2nd and 3rd book in the Virgin River series. I am loving that series. I HAVE to get back to my Troubleshooter series at some point. I am getting behind.

I was very loved over the holidays, my boys bought me a NOOK (YAY) and a beautiful Pandora charm bracelet and a bunch of other things, but I am for sure thankful for the loves in my life and all of you who have become very dear to me :) Happy MONDAY.

  3. Good Morning Everyone! I hope y'all had a great New Years!

Congrats Hope on your son's win! A world champ...that's amazing!

I was on a historical kick this weekend...I read a couple Julie Garwood books...The Bride and Honor's Splendour...They were amazing! I also read the first 3 books in Monica McCarty's Highland Guard series. I really enjoyed them and I'm happy to hear there are going to me more books for the rest of the guard.

I did read The Second Betrayal by Cheyenne McCray...I really hope there's another book in her Lexi Steele series. The ending to this book is very abrupt...I want Lexi and Nick to get their HEA!

    Have a good day everyone!

  4. Christy,
Thanks so much for the kind shout-out for Fatal Justice here and on Facebook. You are such a great friend!

Hope, how did I not hear this world champion news? HUGE congrats to you and Jordan. You must be over the moon!

I read a book I absolutely loved this weekend: Seven Secrets of Seduction by Anne Mallory. It had everything I love in a historical--a to-die-for hero, a smart, sassy heroine, sexual tension that came right off the page and undertones that really made me think. Loved it!

Look forward to visiting with you all tomorrow!

  9. Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! For the first time in years I actually stayed awake and brought in the New Year with my wonderful hubby and some friends.
I have been on a Virgin River kick. I am on the 7th book and have shed more tears and laughed more than I can remember doing anytime recently. This is just an amazing series! I highly recommend them to any who is like me and put it off.
I have so many to read in my TBR pile. After I get the VR series out of the way the first order of business is Lisa Kleypas. My first book by her, but I am sure I won't be disappointed!!
Hope- I am so proud of Jordan that is AWESOME!! I would be a very proud momma too!
Have a great week everyone! Christy good luck with the LCR gang! See you all tomorrow!

  17. Crystal, sounds like you welcomed the new year in just right. LOL I tried my best to wake my honey so he could welcome the new year in with me, but he was snoring so loudly, he didn't hear me. (:

I will read Virgin River this month...I will! How can I not when everyone and their sister tells me how marvelous it is? And Crystal, you'll love Kleypas. She's wonderful. Which one are you reading first?

  18. Hi All
Christy, it's sweet to hear about your upcomimg books.

    I've gotten some reading done
since I've been off for 2 weeks.
    Enjoyed 2 older TBR books:
    True Confessions-Rachel Gibson
    Burning Up-Sarah Mayberry

    Just Loved:
Impulsive-HelenKay Dimon - never disappoints, very smart writing.

Whisper Falls-Toni Blake-oh my, what a hero. Bad guy reformed & so needing someone.

Undertow-Cherry Adair -do not read at bedtime. I stayed up till 3:00AM
because I couldn't put it down. Thought the technical dive stuff would be dry but it was so fascinating & so intertwined with a hot romance- just awesome. Hot hunky guy & a girl that just kicks butt.

I know there's more, just can't remember. Just picked up:
    True Colors-Joyce Lamb
    Then He Kissed Me-Christie Ridgway
Both are 2nd books in their series.
The 4 Lisa Kleypas books in the Wallflower series.

  20. Hey Christy and y'all. Hope you had a good start to the new year!

I read Roxanne St Claire's Edge of Sight and it was good - she has matured as an author from the Bullet Catchers IMO - even though Now You Die was fantastic.

Then i read Monica McCarty's Highland Warrior and I loved it. Am now reading the second in the trilody Highland Outlaw.

  21. Christy there are 2 novels and a novella in the Lexi Steele series. The series is told in first person. I like her Armed & Dangerous series better than this one.

  22. Hello everyone - a very happy and successfull New Year to you all. I am really late here, but as we are not jet back to normal(both my husband and my son are still home for holidays and me already working again) there is not much time left for blogging.

Christy, its very exciting to get glimpses of the coming Sweet Books. I can´t wait to actually reading them. But its worth the waiting I am sure.

Hope, gratulations for your sons great success in the karate tournament- World Champion wow -I can understand that you are really proud of him.

i didn´t do much reading - but I finished Karen Rose´s new book and couldn´t put it down - there are lots of interesting new charakters and I really hope they get their own story .

  23. I didn't get much read and then the other day a friend mentioned "Seven Secrets of Seduction" by Anne Mallory and I got hooked until yesterday when Marie Force's book came out. I also picked up Joyce Lamb's True Colors and Emma Holly's "Angel at Dawn".

  24. Wow, Mary, when you say you got some reading done, you weren't kidding. That's fabulous! And some great recommends too. I didn't realize Joyce Lamb's new book was out. Definitely need to grab that one. And I'm hearing such good things about Cherry Adair's Undertow. Looking forward to reading it too!

  26. Elke, so glad you're looking forward to the SWEET books!

The new Karen Rose book...is that You Belong to Me? I don't think it comes out in the U.S. until this summer. Can't wait to read it. Sounds like another great one!

    Have a great week!

  27. Happy New Year everyone!

I finished Cherry Adair's new one "Undertow" and thought it was really good. I always enjoy a treasure hunt and this one takes you to the Carribean for a dive. Lots of pirating and an explosive espionage storyline. A really feisty, smart and strong female lead matched with a hunky Cassanova makes the story even better! Will look forward to the next in the series, "Riptide" later this year.

Read Marie's new ebooks, TRUE NORTH and THE FALL. They were both such great holiday reads for me & keepers! Definitely will reread them both. You know how much I enjoyed Line of Scrimmage - well, these two are right up there along side LOS.

Also, just finished Kat Martin's new "Against the Wind" - the first in a new series from her. I think this series will be one I'll really enjoy reading.

Elke - I'm so jealous that you've already read Karen Rose's new book! I can't wait until June when it hits our bookstores.

Hope everyone enjoys a peaceful evening.
