Hope you had a good week and weekend! Can't wait to hear what great books you're recommending today.
I'm in New York, arrived on Saturday afternoon. Flight was great and even arrived early! My only problem was I had to get up at 3:00 AM for a 6:30 take-off time, so I was a bit glaze-eyed by the time I made it to the hotel. The hotel is massive! And it's on Times Square where it seems things are happening 24/7. I've walked through it twice since I've been here and each time I marvel at all the craziness, zaniness and sometimes just plain weirdness. Such an interesting place and great fodder for future books!
SWEET REWARD is in the hands of my agent. Yayayayayay! My editor is on vacation and I'll send it to her when she returns. Though Jared and Mia took me on quite a ride, they came through at the end and oh my gosh, I love this book! Hope you will too!
So, my covers are up and aren't they fabulous? I couldn't be more thrilled. And the colors are wonderful too. I'm just so excited about them and can't wait to get some book marks made. I didn't get a chance to have any made for RWA but when I get back home, that'll be first on my agenda.
Next up is an excerpt of SWEET REVENGE. You guys have been so patient and I'm really hoping to have one up for you next week. I may post it early on Facebook, since I can do that myself. If I do, I'll let you know so you can come over and read it. Here's a hint on how the book starts: Remember in LAST CHANCE, we saw Jamie's rescue from the outside, with Lucas and McKenna? This time, we'll see it from Dylan's perspective as he goes in to rescue the future love of his life. You'll learn a lot about both of them in these short pages. Have I told you lately that I love this book? (:
Only 70 days away from the release of SWEET JUSTICE! It's been a long time coming, hasn't it? Don't forget, if you're on GoodReads, I'm giving away 3 copies there, so be sure to sign up!
Okay, that's it for me today. I'm in the midst of trying to finish up page proofs for SWEET REVENGE, which are due on Wednesday. And I'm meeting my agent for lunch and then will head over to the Random House offices. So love being about to finally meet people that I only get to talk to on the phone or through emails.
Hope you have a fabulous week! I'll be bringing back lots of books and stuff from the conference, so be prepared for contests and prizes in the next few months. Now, tell us what great books you read last week that you want us to read too.
Happy Monday all!
Happy Monday Christy! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time in NYC. Wish I was there too!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a couple of crazy weeks around here with the job stuff & baby boy's birthday party (he turns 4 tomorrow!) & everything that goes with all that, so I'm having trouble remembering what I've read when.
Susan Mallery's Buchanan brother series was a fun read. I cried a bit while reading Jami Alden's BEG FOR MERCY (the scenes with her brother *sob*). A couple nonfiction books...I guess that's about it.
Give the naked cowboy a wave for me. :-)
Happy Monday, all! Christy, enjoy your time at RWA in NYC, wish I was there with you all.
ReplyDeleteLast week I read Deadly Dreams by Kylie Brant and really enjoyed it!
I also read Into the Night by Janelle Denison and would recommend it also.
Not sure how I missed it, but am starting Lie with Me by Stephanie Tyler. It's fun to find a series in progress because I have a few to read to get caught up and don't have to wait for them to be released.
Have a great week everyone and a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
Yeah my hubby knows what that's like he regularly catches tge 6:30 am flight out for his business trips, talk about a long day. That sounds exciting, I'm not too far from NYC, but I've never been.
ReplyDeleteI'm re-reading Christine Feehan's ghostwalker series. I'm not a big fan of her carpathian series, but I love this one. I was just thing of re-reading your 6 books after I'm done with this set. I think I'm going to need to re buy them again, but this time on my kindle because I'm so used to reading on that I hardly ever read all of my paperbacks.
NYC sounds fab, Christy! I love visiting that crazy city...there is always lots to see.
ReplyDeleteLife has been insane. Last week Casey had all day modeling down in Richmond, 2 full days of dance dress rehearsals, 2 dance recitals on Sat and the end of the year party yesterday. I love the end of the year party, everyone sort of acts like they won't see each other ever again....but rehearsals for the Disney performance are this Thursday! Casey and I leave Friday for her insane week of competition for the National Petite Miss Dance title followed up with the Disney performances the next week (which I will miss when I leave to go to London for work).
I have not read anything in several days now. It really hurts me, but by the time I got home every night, I was way too exhausted!
Happy Moanday everyone....yep MOANDAY is what I meant to type...
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having fun in NYC Christy, I am green with envy, wish I could have gone too. It has been a crazy few weeks of traveling for us (summer is very busy in the Frost home), and yesterday was my wedding anniversary, so it was nice to be home to celebrate.
Last week I finished Marliss Melton's SEAL series with Too Far Gone and Show No Fear....I really liked these two and am hoping she isn't stopping the series.
I also just finished Beg for Mercy by Jami Alden. I don't remember who recommended it, but everyone should read this book. I can't wait for the next one in November, I think. The scenes with the brother were expertly written, bringing tears to my eyes.
I read the new Bella Andre book, and while it was not one of my favorites, it did set up the series, and I am looking forward to the next one.
Have a great week everyone!!
Hi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteChristy I am quite envious - your visit to N.Y. sounds fabulous.Have a wonderfull time.
Ronlyn, happy birthday to your little one - birthday parties with kids of that age are always fun , but I remeber that I was dead on my feet, when my sons parties were over and all the kiss had a great time.
I reread some of Kylie Brants Mindhunter series last week, Susann Donovans "The Night She Got Lucky" and just started the next one "Not That Kind Of Girl" .
Good reads all of them.
Hope, as far as I know Marliss Meltons Seal Series got kicked out by her publisher, but I think she is planning something new. Which seal was your favourite ?
I am looking forward to the new book by Cindy Gerard featuring Doc - it comes out mid of July I think. No idea what I will be reading till then ,maybe some rereads of Karen Roses books.
Have a great week everyone!
Elke....darn those publishers!! If I had to pick a favorite it would have to be Gabe (Jaguar). I liked them all but he would have to be my fav.
ReplyDeleteYou should really give the book from Jami Alden a try Elke, I was pleasantly surprised, she is new to me.
Wow, sounds like you are having fun in NY! I wish I was there, I <3 NY! The only recommendation I have this week is Breaking Point by Pamela Clare. It was great! I can't say enough great things about this book and the whole series. Zach and Natalie's story is awesome and it was nice to see the rest of the I-team too! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHope,
ReplyDeleteI already read Jami Aldens book ( I think Christy recommended it first) and it hooked me from the start. It is one of the best books I read this year so far - right in line with Pamela Clares Breaking Point.I got really emotional about the whole story. I am looking forward to Seans book in November.
As to Marliss Melton - I just checked her website - her new book "The Protector" is coming soon(this summer)- so there are lots of great books waiting for us.
Oh and "happy anniversary"!
I'm reading HOT AS SIN by Bella Andre. A friend of mine recommended it and it's been great! I would share what I read last week, but honestly can't remember since it was so hectic. I'm LOVING your new covers by the way...and I can NOT wait until September!! Have fun in NYC.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Hope!!!!
ReplyDeleteHearing your excitement with being there, makes me excited too! Next time the conference is in NYC, I'll do whatever to make sure I go with you!
ReplyDeleteNext year...You and Me! Anaheim! Here we come!
HUGS.
Wow, everyone has such SWEET, busy, productive and celebratory news. I got nothing LOL. Finished Beg For Mercy & agree it was very emotional. Can't wait for Sean's book. Krista is going to pay big time. I would take whatever Sean dishes out LOL.
ReplyDeleteStill doing a lot of required reading & counting the days when there is nothing on my schedule.
Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the great recommends! And thanks for putting up with my absence here the last few weeks. I'm hoping next week is a little less crazy and we can really sit down and chat.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your baby boy, Ronlyn! Hope he has the best 4th birthday ever!
Tara, happy 4th of July to you too! I think Independence Day is going go be a big celebration for me. (:
Angela, oh my, I don't know how your hubby does that all the time. It took me two days to recover! And if you're close, you really should come to NYC for a visit. This is only my 3rd time and I absolutely loved each visit.
Kris, my gosh, I almost passed out reading your list of things you and your daughter have done or are getting ready to do. I'm not surprised you haven't read anything. I wouldn't even be coherent if I'd done half of what you're doing. Have a great trip to London! And then hope you can rest a bit.
LOL Happy Moanday to you too, Hope! Sounds like you're having an incredibly busy summer too. I'm so glad you enjoyed Beg for Mercy. I'm hoping to see Jami while I'm here to let her know so many of you have loved the book!
Hey Elke! I think lots and lots of people are looking forward to Cindy Gerard's book for Doc. I'm one of them! (:
ReplyDeleteBarbara, Breaking Point was fabulous! And I think I saw Pamela announce on Facebook that Breaking Point was named one of the best E-books of 2011 on Amazon. Did I get that right, Ronlyn?
Hey Candy! So glad you love the covers and you're looking forward to September. I am too. (: Oh, and I love Bella Andre!
Carla, wish you were here too! I went to the Random House building yesterday and oh my gosh, so so so big! Hope we can both be at RWA 2012!
Mary G. Hope you find some time to relax and enjoy yourself soon!
Oh, before I forget, as if I could. I had lunch with my fabulous agent yesterday. She read SWEET REWARD over the weekend and LOVED it! She said it was one of her favorites of all the LCR books and that Jared might well be her favorite of all the LCR men. Yayayay!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, Jared is the most alpha male I've ever written, so I was so glad she loved him too!
That's great about Jared but that's just mean LOL. We need some excerpts!!
ReplyDeleteLate as usual but wanted to say hi to everyone!!
ReplyDeleteChristy, pea green with envy to be in NYC with you!!! Never a dull moment in the Big Apple. Can't wait to hear all about your trip.
Belated Happy Anniversary to Hope and her hubby!! And Hope, it was our very own Christy Reece who recommended Jami Alden's "BEG FOR MERCY" and like you, I can't wait for the next one.
I agree with Mary G -- we need more on Jared & excerpts. I'm lovin' the vibes from your agent, Christy. I'm so excited and anxious for "SWEET REWARD" (have I already said that about a thousand times before -- well, it's true!).
Am on a Harlan Coben binge. Have read all his stand alones this summer and am getting read to start his Myron Bolivar series now. He writes the greatest conversational dialogues and keeps me on the edge of my seat throughout the books. Would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys a great mystery.
Wishing everyone a fabulous 4TH OF JULY!!!!
A day late but have had a scarey couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy New York Christy - I must say I am green with envy - would love to be there!
Have finally started reading Nora roberts' Vision in White - so far so good - am enjoying it. Hadn't read a NR in ages so I was due for some of her writing again :).
Mary, excerpt coming soon. I promise!
ReplyDeleteHey Anne,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're anxious for Jared's book. My agent just really really loved him. And I gotta say, I do too! (:
BTW, I spoke with Jami Alden tonight and told her how many of you had read her book and how much you loved it. She was thrilled. She's going to try to stop by soon and say hi.
Luci, hope everything is okay with you.
ReplyDeleteNew York is definitely a happening place. There's so much going on, it's hard to keep up with everything.
Hey everyone! I saw Christy last night at RWA and now I know why my ears are burning! I'm so glad to see so many of you enjoyed Beg For Mercy! am currently doing page proofs for Sean's book - it will be out before you know it!
ReplyDeleteHey Jami! Thanks so much for stopping by. I know lots of readers are looking forward to Sean's book. Hope you'll stop by when it's released.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you at RWA!
