Hope you had a good week and weekend!
First of all, I want to apologize for being absent so much lately. Jared and Mia, realizing the urgency of the deadline and fearing that their HEA is in jeopardy, have been furiously speaking to me all week. Other than the occasional sticking my head up to say hi, I have been glued to my laptop. (Hibernation is so much more fun in the wintertime) And, since I'm only a few days from deadline, once again, this is a quick flyby. However, as soon as this baby is winging its way to New York, I promise I'll have some very SWEET treats for you. Your patience will be REWARDed! (:
I didn't get a final copy of the SWEET REWARD cover last week, as I'd hoped. If it comes this week, I promise to post it. Also, there will be a new cover for SWEET REVENGE. The one you see posted everywhere, including my website, is not the final one. So stay tuned for that too. And yes, as soon as the dust settles and deadlines are past, an excerpt of SWEET REVENGE will be posted. Promise!
I just found out that the page proofs for SWEET REVENGE will be here on Thursday. So in between assuring Mia and Jared that things really will work out for them, I need to do some final polish for Jamie and Dylan. There's never a dull moment with the LCR gang!
Don't forget we're still counting down to the release of SWEET JUSTICE with our monthly LCR discussions. Tuesday, June 21, we'll be chatting about NO CHANCE. Hope you're enjoying your reread of Gabe and Skylar's story. Can't wait to chat about these two characters, along with Kendra and the perverted and evil William!
Hard to believe that in two weeks I'll be in New York for the RWA conference. If you're going, I hope you'll say hey if you see me! I'll be at the literacy signing on Tuesday night. Come on by and chat. I'll have chocolate! (:
That's it for me. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding about my absence. Can't wait to catch up with you all once this year's LCR operatives finally settle down.
Now, what great books have you read that you want everyone to read too?
Happy Monday all!
Hi Christy
ReplyDeleteGreat getting the updates on your work. So looking forward to some new excerpts (hint, hint!!).
I finished Trace Of Fever by Lori Foster & loved this one too.
Started reading Beg For Mercy by Jami Alden. It’s so good. I forgot my “no suspense at bedtime” rule and it was hard to put down so I’m also reading & enjoying Bridleton by Becky Barker and Talk Of The Town by Karen Hawkins.
Hey Christy,
ReplyDeleteI am finally online on a Monday so I can chip in :).
Have a great time at the RWA - sigh New York - my dream. We were talking where we would like to go abroad and my six year old told us - where there is the statue with the ice cream in her hand :) my husband was like - Yeah right! Lol wouldn't we all like to go.
I finally caved in and bought a kindle because I was feeling like a second class reader with all these books being released only on ebooks. I do not read on my laptop. Received it in two days.
Read Unlocked by Courtney Milan and am reading Grace Burrowes' The Heir on it. Reading cindy Gerrard's Whisper No Lies in paperback. I usually read one book at a time but this week i made an exception.
I haven't recommended any book for a long time so I can tell you that lately I rea dand enjoyed a lot. One Whisper Away by Emma Wildes, Just Like HEaven by Julia Quinn and The Edge of Night by Jill Sorenson.
Christy, Monica McCarty told me that she was coming around Malta with the Disney Cruise liner so they wouldn't really be coming down to the island - they just have an excursion around it. I am really looking forward to The Viper.
ooh, lots happening in the "Sweet" world...I love it. It means that we are getting closer to getting to read them. Yippee!!
ReplyDeleteI just finished Storm Kissed by Jessica Andersen. This was #6 in the Nightkeepers series. I have never read any of these...it was a complete impulse buy. OMG! It was sooooooo good!! I immediately went out and bought the first 5 to take with me on vacation next week. Wow! Storm Kissed was so good!! I highly recommend it!
Mary, I have Trace of Fever and Beg for Mercy in my TBR pile...I have heard great things about both of them!
Happy reading everyone! smiles...
Hey Christy! You sure have been very busy! Glad things are going well and counting down with you too. I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett. My neighbor was her sorority sister at Alabama and dropped it by for me to read before the movie comes out in August. I really enjoyed it! Take care and "Happy Monday" to you too!
ReplyDelete~Michelle Reece
Hi all, Happy Monday!
ReplyDeletePopping in before I hop on yet another plane and fly across the country.
I finished Living on the Edge by Shannon K. Butcher, and really enjoyed it.
I am taking Deadly Dreams by Kylie Brandt, SEALed with a Kiss by Mary Margret Daughtridge, and Maid to Order by Marie Force with me this week.
I agree with Mary on some new excerpts, would be great Christy!
I hope everyone has a great week!
Hi Everyone,
ReplyDeleteChristy- I am really looking forward to the excerpt of SWEET REVENGE.The waiting for the release date of the SWEET books is really hard but thanks to Recommend Monday I always find books I really like to shorten the
time.
Last week you mentioned "Beg for Mercy" by Jami Alden and as it sounded interesting, I ordered it. I just finished it today and it was awesome,I soo loved it. It gripped me from the start and it is one of the best books I read within the last few months- standing right next to Pamela Clares Breaking Point.
Mary, I also had a hard time to put it down to get some sleep.
I have the next one,"Hide from
Evil" already on my "must buy" list.
I also read the next book in the Mindhunter series by Kylie Brant "Deadly dreams", also very good and was pleased to see that the next book in this series has the boss himself as the male heroe - I always wanted to see more of Adam Raiker.
Good reads were also Meryl Sawyers "Death`s Door" and Mary Burtons "Dying Scream".
Wow ,I didn´t realsize I actually managed to read four books during the last week - but the problem is that I am out of new books now. I guess I will have to do some rereads, beginning with " No Chance" to prepare for the next LCR discussion.
Christy, good luck with Jared and Mia and have a happy week everyone.
Morning all! I've read a few different books this past week. Mostly just fun, light summer reads...even though summer doesn't seem to officially be here yet. :-P
ReplyDeleteElke, I sent you an email...did you get it? Your copy of FATAL AFFAIR will be winging it's way to you soon. Is there anything else you'd like?
I can't wait to read them!
ReplyDeleteI just became a big fan of Shelly Laurenston. I've read almost all of her books on kindle, but The Mane Squeeze was my favorite. It's funny, thrilling and romantic. There were several parts I just burst out laughing.
Ronlyn,
ReplyDeleteI did´t check my e-mails during the weekend. But I checked right now and its there. Thank you very much. I will mail you back soon.
Hi there everyone. Today is the first day of summer vacation for my son, so I have been keeping busy trying to get lists of chores done before I hear the dreaded "I'm bored" comment and have to kill him.
ReplyDeleteLast week, I finished a few fun rereads that I like to read about this time of year, not on purpose, just happens that way I guess. Those were Rachel Gibson's hockey series and one of my cowboy series by Linda Lael Miller.
I also read Kade, by Cheyenne McCray and loved it. I can't wait to read the next one.
I finished, last night actually, the first in the Bride Quartette by Nora Roberts, I have been putting off reading this book cause I haven't really been a Roberts fan, but I bought the book when it was a book club book for Marie Force's club. I LOVED IT, I have already started the second one. I am probably the only one who hasn't read it, but I highly recommend this series!!
Have a great week everyone.
Hi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI read some really good books this past week. I loved Beg for Mercy by Jami Alden. I also picked up Caught by Jami as well and really enjoyed it. I finished my first Karen Rose book this weekend as well...You Belong to me was SO good! I'll be picking up more of her books for sure! I also enjoyed Red Heat by Nina Bruhns.
Hope, I liked the Armed and Dangerous series too, in my opinion the first 3 books are the best. Clay's book is pretty short.
Happy Reading Everyone!
Hi Christy
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for your new stuff.
This week I am reading Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole. It's part of her Immortals after Dark Seris and it's AWESOME. The sexual tension is crazy good.
I also just started a book called Charmer by Autumn Dawn. I've never read her stuff before but it's pretty good so far.
Hey Christy!
ReplyDeleteYou are working so hard this summer! I am definitely a slacker in comparison.
I just finished Karen Rose's new book, You Belong to Me. It is a must read for everyone!
Hey Christy and fellow peeps... I'm a day late and a dollar short. (my motto lately lol)
ReplyDeleteWe made a mad dash to Missouri this past weekend to get my sweet sweet girl for a couple weeks and had a few hiccups getting back.
Last week I read:
Claimed by a Highlander by Julianne MacLean
Laird of the Mist and A Highlander never Surrenders by Paula Quinn
All of them were good historical reads.
Christy good luck with Jared and Mia getting their HEA taken care of and your polishing of Dylan and Jamie. I'd volunteer to do some polishing for Dylan, but that may not be what your editor was looking for. :) I bet hubby dear has a stock pile of chocolate within reaching distance huh!
Luci I am looking forward to Viper's story also!! It is one of the few that I have marked for remembering when they are released. I'm not good at keeping up with them, but this is one that I'm super excited for. (Along with the SWEET books of course!!)
Ronlyn!! Just so you know it has been 103 here so you can have some of my summer and I'll take some of your spring!
Hope how long is Jordans chore list so far? Kade sounds interesting I'll have to try it out.
I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!
Thank you all for the awesome recommendations and your encouraging words. I'm still pounding away on my keyboard. So far, SWEET REWARD has made me cry, laugh and scream-hope that's the sign of a great book. (:
ReplyDeleteDon't you guys love the SWEET REWARD cover? I can't stop looking at it. And I'm so excited for you to see the new cover for SWEET REVENGE. Just...wow!
See you back here on Monday!
