Recommend Monday

Happy Monday Everyone!

Can you believe it's August already? This year has zipped by like a comet on a mission!

Did you read anything great last week? Can't wait to hear about it.

Now for some news. Putting on my Ella Grace hat for a moment to let you know that my publisher is giving away 50 copies of MIDNIGHT LIES over on Goodreads. (U.S. residents only) Be sure to enter soon as I think the deadline is 8/31. Here's the link: Midnight Lies Goodreads giveaway

Also, I'll be having some giveaways on my Ella Grace site soon, leading up to the release of MIDNIGHT LIES on September 24. Lots of books, gift cards, and a few surprises. Stay tuned!

Last week, on my Facebook page, I shared an excerpt of both NOTHING TO LOSE and RUNNING ON EMPTY, A Last Chance Rescue Novel. I don't think I posted the link for the LCR novel, so here it is. Let me know what you think. (It's the top post. And please ignore the typos!) Running On Empty excerpt

This past weekend, I filled out the art sheet for two books. I'm going to change the cover for CHANCES ARE in preparation for the upcoming LCR books as I want them all to have the same sort of look. If you love the current CHANCES ARE cover and haven't purchased it yet, be sure to do so within the next few weeks. Also, I'm preparing to choose the cover for the first book in my new series. I'm so excited about these two series and the plans I have for them. Can't wait to share more soon!

As you know, last Thursday, SWEET JUSTICE released in the UK. Congratulations to Lisa Parker and Ashely (who entered from the Goodread's blog link). Ladies, I'll be in touch with both of you on prize delivery.

No recommends from me today. I am about to dive into a new book that I believe will be a recommend. Hope to share it with you next week.

Okay, that's it for me today. I'm headed to Dallas to see what's up with Kennedy and Nick.

Have a great week all. Now tell us what we should be reading!

  1. Thank you, Christy for the book I won. I can't wait to get it. Right now I am reading Brenda Novak's new series of books called Whiskey Creek. I finished the first one this weekend, and I am now halfway through the second one. They are very good, and a change of pace for me.

  2. Always great news when things are moving forward in getting new books out! :)

Mini-me is off to Outer Banks this week with a friend and in the last five weeks, I've probably only seen her a total of six or seven days! Normally, this would mean lots of extra reading, but work has kept me ridiculously busy. Things are settling down and I've been on a Rock Chick kick (thanks to Alison!!). KA fans know how much fun her books are, but if you haven't read them, I totally recommend them...assuming you like totally hot alpha males (and who doesn't!?!?!).

Three Little Words from Susan Mallery is also a winner for a sweet read.

    Have a great week!

  3. Happy Monday Everyone!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. The last few weeks have been beautiful here in Cape Breton Island.

As I still haven't found a full time job (is it wrong that I'm not entirely sad about that in July/August/September???)I have lots of time for READING!!! This week I am recommending a new-to me author Laurie Roma !! She has a 3 book (so far) series called the IAD Agency . These books focus on a group of Special Ops men and woman. So far I have read the first one, UNDER PRESSURE , and am half way through the second, ONE SHOT . The third, DEADLY TARGET , just came out last week.

Let me warn you, while these stories focus on the men and woman of IAD fighting terrorists, there is lots of steamy sexy time!!! If you dislike hot, hot, hot descriptive sex scenes, these books may not be for you. Laurie Roma calls herself an erotic romance author.

I just love Recommend Monday!! Thanks to all of you for the wonderful suggestions as I have definitely added to my TBR list in the last few weeks!!!

    Have a great week everyone!!!!

    Nicole

I have a few recs this week
The Redemption of Callie and Kayden (The Coincidence, #2) - Jessica Sorenson
    Private Practice - Samanthe Beck
Escaping Reality (The Secret Life of Amy Bensen, #1) - Lisa Renee Jones, only $.99 on Amazon. Be warned it has a cliffhanger ending. Thanks Tara for pointing out this little gem to me!

  5. Christy,

    New covers= Hooray!

Only one recommend from me this week, Escaping Reality by Lisa Renee Jones. Glad you liked it Alison. I can't wait for book 2 to see what happens.

And Kris, I LOVE the KA Rock Chicks! Luke Stark is my romance boyfriend of the hot bunch, but I have a feeling Ren Zano is going to give him a run for his money in Rock Chick Revolution.

Alright, might miss next week. Moving on Saturday,so not much time for anything other than unpacking.

    Have a great week everyone!

  6. So excited to see all the new book covers, Christy!

My kids are vacationing in Florida this week so I've had extra reading time!

Jessica Sorenson's "Redemption of Callie and Kayden" was superb.

I also read Colleen Hoover's "Slammed" series and loved it. Don't know why I put it off so long. Couldn't put it down once I started reading.

Hope the move goes well, Tara! Keep us posted.

Wishing everyone a great week of good reads!

  7. Hey everyone!
I'm preparing to head back to school. Although I adore summer with my kids and books, I am very anxious to see my school kiddos!
Can't wait to see the covers, Christy! I do so love the UK covers.
I just finished Robert Galbraith, aka JK Rowling's, Cuckoo's Calling. I really, really enjoyed it. Right now I'm reading Susan Wiggs' The Apple Orchard, which is also very good, and rereading Shiloh Walker's If You Hear Her in preparation for finally reading the rest of the series!
oklanannie, I don't typically read the NA genre, but loved Hoover's Slammed books!

  10. Hey All! Thanks so much for the recommends. I've added several to my list to check out. The phrase "So many books, too little time" is coming to mind. But there can never be too many books! Right?

Hope you'll come by today's Recommend Monday to share your favorite reads from last week.

    See you soon!
