Good Monday Everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. Mine was rushed, crazed, frenetic, and absolutely perfect.
As you know this is the last Recommend Monday on this blog. Next week we'll be posting on my Facebook author page. Since I have about 7500 followers over there, it's my hope we'll have lots more recommendations and chatter about all the books out there that people are loving.
Thank you to everyone who has recommended a book here. I and countless others have found some wonderful reading recommendations here. You've helped us discover new authors, go to new worlds, and meet many exciting people. Please come over to my Facebook page and continue the good work. :) Christy Reece Facebook page
I'll be updating my website within the next few weeks, so be sure to come back and check it out. Will be posting the fabulous cover for NOTHING TO LOSE, along with a back cover blurb and an excerpt. I can't wait for you to meet the fascinating people of the Grey Justice organization!
And soon we'll be chatting about RUNNING ON EMPTY and the new addition to the Last Chance Rescue organization. I think you're going to flip out (in a good way) when you see what's in store for them.
Since this is our last Recommend Monday and the last day you'll be able to comment to enter the giveaway for tomorrow, let's do what we created Recommend Monday for. Tell us what great books you read last week. As for me, I'm in the middle of my first Lee Child book, The Killing Floor, and thoroughly enjoying it.
How about you?
Be sure to check back tomorrow--December 31. I'll announce the winner of the giveaway. It could be you!
Have a wonderful day all!

Happy Monday, Christy/All! I can't believe this is the last recommend on the blog. I can't begin to tell you how many new authors and friends I have made from this and am excited to see it expand on FB!
ReplyDeleteI can say Happy Monday b/c I have this week off with my little and it is so nice to not be working!
Only one recommend for me this week. A Christmas to Remember, cute shorts from Kristen Ashley, Jill Shalvis, Marilyn Pappano and others. Really enjoying it.
Christy, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us with the Grey Organization and what's up next for LCR also.
Wishing everyone a wonderful, happy, healthy New Year!
Thank you, Tara! Happy New Year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteGotta admit that this charter member is a little sad to say good-bye to Christy's original Recommend Monday . . . but anxious to continue into a new and unchartered territory with old friends as well as new! Really excited for all the upcoming releases where our sweet southern author will take us to exciting places with new stories and characters. And hopefully, a catch up with some old and dear friends as well!
ReplyDeleteMy recommend this week "A Beautiful Disaster" by Jamie McGuire. This is the first book in a trilogy and I'll definitely move on to the next two books. This book has gotten tons of hype on Goodreads and various blogs for quite sometime but I put it off until recently. I'm glad that a book buddy kept pushing and pushing. It was a really great surprise.
Hoping the New Year 2014 will be happy, healthy, and prosperous to one and all!
I didn't have a lot of time to read last week, but I did manage one that sort of involved all of my favorite genres. It was "A Cure to Die For" by Stephen G. Mitchell. I love mystery, thriller, medical and romance novels and this one did it for me. I couldn't find a better review than one that is on the back of the book, so here goes. A crisis of medical and corporate greed sweeps the country. The government and the media conspire with the medical industry to keep a miracle drug off the market. This book is a medical thriller that is part adventure, part mystery and part love story; a novel about two people who stand against a broken world.
ReplyDeleteI finished reading holiday romances last week with the completion of A Cooper Mountain Christmas: A Cowboy for Christmas - Katherine Garnera, Christmas at Cooper Mountain - Jane Porter, and Home for Christmas - Melissa McClone. Quick, fun holiday reads.
ReplyDeleteThis week I'm hoping to get to the 2nd book in Ryan Winfield's Park Service trilogy. Book 1 was great. His other books I've read are Jane's Melody and South of Bixby Bridge. Happy New Year!
I just found Recommend Monday and now it is going away...aw shucks...I recommend Lauren Blakely's Tangled Up In Love. It has four of her full length novels on sale for $4.99. I paid over $16 to read these this past year. They are really great reads. I tend to read indie authors.
ReplyDeleteI only read one book this past week. It was Suzanne Rossi's "Deadly Inheritance" and I really liked it.
