Finally Friday

Hi All, have you had a good week? Are you glad it's over and the weekend is almost here?

My week has been relatively busy. After sending the synopsis of the first book in the new trilogy on to my editor on Monday, it was time to play some major catch-up. In between finishing up reading for the Rita contest, I've been mailing out books from the giveaways from last week. Still working on both through the weekend!

Hard to believe it's only 18 days away until SECOND CHANCE releases. Yay! It will be interesting to see what you think about SECOND CHANCE, which is much more mystery than any other Last Chance Rescue book I've written. Sure hope you guys love mysteries!

I've been thinking about how to get those together who want to discuss NO CHANCE without advertising spoilers. Any suggestions? Would you all be interested in a Last Chance Rescue Yahoo group where you could ask questions and discuss the books? Let me know and I'll check into it.

I haven't had a CHANCE to listen to the audio of NO CHANCE. Has anyone heard it? Let me know if you have. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Also, I'm hearing from a few of you, including several of my relatives, that you've had some problems finding NO CHANCE. If you get a moment, let me know if you've had any trouble locating a copy.

Okay, that's it for me. Hope you all have a marvelous weekend! Stay safe, warm and grab a good read or two. Remember to stop by on Monday to share your book recommendations.

Until later!

Oh Christy! A discussion group where we could break down the spoiler barriers would be TERRIFIC!!

I was in Barnes & Noble yesterday and didn't see any copies of NO CHANCE but also visited the new Books A Million store and they had a few copies. I spoke with a woman browsing the book aisle and she said she had already read it and was "so caught up in Reece's books and couldn't wait for SECOND CHANCE." I told her about your blog and website so I'm hoping to see a new "Janie" guest show up! We had a fine time whispering about our favorite LCR characters and books. (She's in the Noah camp!)

As for the "mystery" question - I LOVE them as long as there's some sizzle, too!!

Have a fantastic weekend! It's sunny and 64 degrees here today. SPRINGTIME is finally arriving (I hope!).

  2. Hey Oklanannie! Yay! I'll see what I can do about putting together a Yahoo group then. I think someone suggested this before. Alexandra, maybe?

Woohoo! A conversation in a book aisle about LCR and another fan for Noah. I love it! Hopefully we'll see Janie soon. Thanks for chatting me up, that's so sweet of you!

Glad you love a mystery and oh yes, there's PLENTY of sizzle. I promise!

64! Yay! I think we're in the high 50's today, so happy about that. Yes, Springtime is finally making an entrance.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Christy
Sounds like you had a productive week. The big Chapters store is down to 5 copies of No Chance, they started with 15 (I can check on-line). That's just one store. WTG!!

  4. Hey Mary! Thanks for letting me know. Wow, 15 copies is a good supply. And down to 5? Making me smile again. Thanks!

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Hey Christy,
A group that discusses all things LCR? Count me in! Sounds like a lot of fun.
NO CHANCE is so popular around here! I finally confiscated my book back from the friend who highjacked it, and am reading it again before SECOND CHANCE comes out. BTW, SECOND CHANCE sounds fabulous. I am so excited. Mystery + romance + our favorite LCR characters = A+++++
Weekend should be great around here. Weather is beautiful and nothing big planned. Hopefully, the craziness of the week won't bleed into the weekend! :) At least I'm never bored.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

  6. Hey Christy
I thought 10 selling in 12 days is pretty good considering this Chapters is in a suburb of Toronto. Too bad I didn't check the city of Toronto stores when it released.

  7. Yay, another for the Yahoo group. Should have everything set up by Sunday or Monday. Will let everyone know when it's done.

A reread of NO CHANCE. Cool! Hope you enjoy it again! Have a lovely, restful weekend. Enjoy the weather. I'm hoping it's here to stay!

  8. Hey Mary, 10 in 12 days sounds good to me. Now if only other stores in other cities would follow suit. (:

  9. Hi Christy
I'm sure the city stores sold well too. The excess books were no longer on the table. They were all on the shelf. Also Chapters fixed their site. Until recently, for Last Chance they still had the old red & white cover. Now the site has all three new covers & they're so pretty.

  10. Thanks, Mary. Hopefully they'll selling as well elsewhere. And I love my covers too. I was so fortunate this time. (:

  11. Hi Christy
You got a B- HOT rating for No Chance at All Abiut Ronace blog.
    WTG.

  12. Thanks, Mary! How cool. And HOT too. RESCUE ME got a B with Warm. Interesting. (:

  13. All your books are HOT to me.

  14. As a teacher, I must say their grading system is seriously flawed! Maybe they're grading on the advanced placement system where a B is like an A. Must be it. :)
Finished NO CHANCE tonight. Liked it even more this time. Sooo ready for SECOND CHANCE now.
    Ya'll have a good night.

  15. LOL. I love the idea of an advanced placement system. Thanks, Kara!

So glad you enjoyed NO CHANCE again. And liked it even better. Cool!

Only 17 days till SECOND CHANCE! March is going fast.

    Have a great night.

  16. Just wanted to put my two cents worth in about the review at All About Romance - it stinks! I'm rarely ever in agreement with their reviews. I really prefer a review from a wider range of readers such as Amazon or a For Readers Only Blog. One person only reviews just don't cut it for me. Another thing I notice is that a majority of the reviewers on AAR seem to favor historicals or straight contemporary. They also don't seem to be consistent nor is their grading explained to my satisfaction IMHO only.

I've also had a SECOND CHANCE to read NO CHANCE now and it was even better. My first read is like a cram session. Having a SECOND CHANCE read is at a much slower pace and one where I almost always pick up tons more of the little details. It is also my "informational" read so I can add to the chart.

Okay, I'll jump down off my soapbox now. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

  17. Hi Oklanannie! Thanks for your support. Actually that's not a bad review at all. Believe me, I've had worse elsewhere. (:

I can only write the book the way I see it in my head. Sometimes that pleases people, sometimes it doesn't.

I so love that you guys enjoy my books. I hope that's always the case!

  18. Oklanannie,
So we agree that NO CHANCE gets even better the second time around. Does that mean our Dave/Decker and Julian/Marc disagreements didn't do irreparable harm to the 'kinship'? LOL Hope your weather is as beautiful as it is here!

  19. Hi Annie
I'd be looking at the HOT part of the review anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey Kara!

Weather is cloudy today. Think we're due some thunderstorms later. Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to dig in the dirt and plant colorful flowers!

No damage done to the "Kinship." Were those disagreements? Just thought of them as bragging rights! 'Cause my guys are better than your guys!!!

NO CHANCE was excellent! Gabe was everything I hoped he would be throughout all the little peeks and hints in each of the previous books. I enjoyed the "homefront" setting this time around, too.

Of course, I'm so revved for SECOND CHANCE. There's so many unanswered questions surrounding Cole's life. He deserves one of Christy's best HEA's!

Just finished Cathie Linz's MAD, BAD AND BLONDE. A easy and quick read with witty, fast-paced, and lots of sass and romance! I enjoyed it while waiting, waiting, waiting for that SECOND CHANCE!!

Enjoy your great weather! We're probably sending you stormy weather in the next day or two.

  21. Back at ya Mary G!

You're so right about that "thermometer rating." HOT is good! And Christy's are really fine!

Play any tennis today? I'm nursing a bad leg so I'm on hiatus!

  22. Oklanannie,
I think I heard a distinct 'Na nana nana' in your comment. I'm sure it's just my imagination. LOL
I want to read the Linz book. Right now my TBR mountain is threatening an avalanche. Of course, I should probably stop rereading my favorites and get on with some of these new ones, something I intend on doing just as soon as I feed the troops.
Feel free to keep your thunderstorms. It's a well known fact I detest inside recess! :)

  23. Hi Annie
Played last night. We're still indoors although today was gorgeous & got me in the mood for outside. Sorry about oyur leg. Hope you're better soon.

  24. Kara
So right about the rereads but it depends on my mood. Live the nanana with you & Annie.

  25. Hit Borders in Augusta, Ga and found Run To Me, Rescue Me and No Chance. 5 books of No Chance left and my sister was down and went with me so we kind of bought out the Run To Me, Rescue Me and No Chance to get her caught up. We took a pic of her holding up your book in the store. The clerk asked if we found everything and we told them we were looking for Return To Me but they were out. Got it ordered for her though and sent to her Va store. So far they have been carrying your books more.

Christy your books are better than that review. You are a HAVE to buy NOT a borrow. Another words a keeper.
Okay off to read some Pamela Clare that ya'll suggested. Have a great weekend.

  26. Thank you, Jackie! And please thank your sister for me. Hope she enjoys them.

Thanks so much for the kind words. Wish I could clone you guys! (:

  27. I have not seen any books in the stores around here, that being lake geneva and delavan, Wisconsin.

  28. How did I miss all this fun over the weekend?
There are a few books left here in Wyoming that I've seen, but I noticed that there aren't many copies left in my regular stores.
A yahoo group is a GREAT idea! That will be awesome! I want to say that I agree 100% with oklanannie on the reviews! One person can't decide an authors grade.

So anyway hope everyone had a great weekend!
