Since we didn't do Recommend Monday, I thought we'd go for Tuesday this week. So what great reads did you enjoy last week that you want to tell the world about? Maybe we can grab them when we're getting Pamela's book!
As you know, my week was filled with blogs and contests, so I didn't get the CHANCE to read. I am taking this week to finish up the Rita contest books I'm judging and to send out all the books and prizes to the contests winners. If you won, be patient. They're coming!
Once I finish those things up, I'm going to get back to another synopsis on the new trilogy. I sent in the synopsis for the first book yesterday. Such a relief! I'm hoping to get the other one done soon so I can concentrate on writing them.
Thanks so much for the emails, blog comments and lovely reviews of NO CHANCE. That means so much to an author and your support is greatly appreciated. If you haven't yet had a CHANCE to read NO CHANCE, when you do, I hope you enjoy it! And thank you again to those who followed me around on blogs for the past couple of weeks. It was wonderful to see familiar names pop up!
I don't think I mentioned that I received two copies of SECOND CHANCE the other day, hot off the press. Wow, I thought the NO CHANCE cover was pretty. I love this cover even more! Stay tuned because I will probably have a contest soon to give away a copy! Also, not sure if I mentioned here that SECOND CHANCE received a 4 1/2 stars TOP PICK from Romantic Times Magazine! I'm thrilled!
That's about it for me. Right now, I'm looking out my office window watching the snow fall. I think this is the snowiest winter we've had since moving back here. Don't think it's going to stick though. At least I hope not. I'm so ready for warm weather!
Okay, your turn. Tell us about your good reads and how your day/week is going.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Tuesday!
Good morning Christy
ReplyDeleteYes yesterday was a lot of fun. Thanks for having Pamela come for a visit. I'm looking forward to reading one of her books. Its suppose to be 54 degrees here in Wyoming today and your getting snow lol. That seems backwards.
Anyway I didn't get a lot of reading done last week, but I did read Linda Lael Miller's Tate. This is the first book of hers that I read. It was pretty good, buy it was mellow. I seem to have to have murder and mayhem in a book for it to get my blood a pumping. But I'll read more of her McKettricks series. I also reread Run to Me. There is just something about Ethan!!! Although there is a good chance Cole may sneak up and take first place in my heart lol
Have a great Tuesday everyone!!
Hey Crystal! Glad you enjoyed yesterday. I think you'll really like Pamela's books. A fair amount of murder and mayhem as well as wonderful characters.
ReplyDeleteSo Ethan's still number one from the LCR bunch for you. Wow, he's really giving Noah quite the competition. It'll be interesting to see if Cole will unseat him though. (:
Thanks for the recommend! Have a wonderful day and enjoy that 54 degree weather!
Hi Christy
ReplyDeleteRight now im reading Rita Herron's Forbidden Passion the third of her demonborn series. Really good, its a review book. I also read Annette Blair's Naked Dragon, this is the first in her new Works like magick series. Great book. Did pick up your new book, just have not had a chance to read it yet. Being in the hospital put me a little behind in my review books.
Hi everyone. Yesterday was great and thank you Christy for putting that together. Things are slowing down around here so I actually had a chance to read some. Right now I am almost down with Dead By Midnight by Beverly Barton. Another great book by a great author. In this book she is also setting up a couple more. I can't wait to read Nic and Griff's story. I really hope they work it all out.
ReplyDeleteMorning All!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a bit of a break in my morning. The past couple of days have been more chaotic than usual so it's a well deserved break.
I of course read NO CHANCE last week. And now I'm re-reading Pamela Clare's Unlawful Contact (which is one of my all time favorites). It doesn't get much hotter than a "Jag Shag". :-)
I'm really looking forward to SECOND CHANCE.
Hi Robin, hope you're feeling better! Sounds like you had a paranormal week. Cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommends. Have a great Tuesday! And hope you enjoy NO CHANCE when you get the CHANCE to read it. (:
Hi Sarah, congrats again on winning Pamela's book! So glad you enjoyed yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYes, Beverly Barton is a great storyteller, isn't she? Sounds like a good series to get started on.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Hey Ronlyn, thanks again for the feedback on NO CHANCE! Loved chatting with you about Kendra.
ReplyDeleteUnlawful Contact has been my favorite book so far, but Julian is still my fave hero in the I-Team series. Love Marc, but there's just something about Julian.
Have a great Tuesday!
Hi to all!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was such fun! Thanks so much to Christy for putting together the visit with Pamela Clare. I was able to get a copy of NAKED EDGE yesterday afternoon and am into it about 100 pages. It's going to be another winner and I'm loving Kat's character. And Gabe is pretty droolworthy as well. However, I am still in Julian's camp for now!
Last week I read J.D. Robb's FANTASY IN DEATH. It wasn't the best book in the series to date but an enjoyable read and I always enjoy the time with Eve, Roarke and the gang.
It's March 2 -- only 21 more days until SECOND CHANCE!!! I'm anxious to read Cole's story. I'm thinking there are going be some tears shed in this one for sure.
Sarah, I agree with you on Beverly Barton's DEAD BEFORE MIDNIGHT. I really enjoyed it. And, like you, I'm hopeful for a happy ending for Griff and Nic & an ending to so many secrets between them!
Have fun reading this week everyone!
Hey Oklanannie! So happy you enjoyed yesterday! Can't wait to dig into my copy of NAKED EDGE!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for counting the day to SECOND CHANCE. Hard to believe it's only 3 weeks away or does 21 days sound better? And I definitely shed tears while writing SECOND CHANCE. Reread the ending the other day and cried again. LOL. You know I'm a crybaby though. (:
Hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!
*adding Beverly Barton to my need to check out list*
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome Christy! Anytime.
You all can have Julian...that just means more Hunt for me. :-D
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I missed Pamela Clare, yesterday. I got an early copy from B&N and Naked Edge was a winner - great ending (that's all I will say). I also read Broken by Shiloh Walker, which featured the twin brother from Fragile. I think people will enjoy that book, too.
PS - to Sarah, I'm a Griff and Nic fan, as well. I can't wait for them to get another book as main characters.
Just got my RT and saw your Top Pick and wonderful review for 2nd Chance! I'm collecting this trilogy so I can read al 3 in a row :) Love the back to backs...
ReplyDeleteRight now, not much reading for me...am in revisionland. Send chocolate...
Hey Jennifer, missed you yesterday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommend on Broken. Did it just come out? And Fragile is the one before it. Right? I need to get these soon!
Sounds like Beverly Barton has several fans here. She's a great storyteller and such a sweet lady too.
Good to hear from you!
Hey Stephanie! Thanks so much! I love those back to backs too...for reading and writing. Hope you enjoy my CHANCE series. Can't wait for your new books!
ReplyDeleteRevisions, huh? Yep, chocolate is a must. I don't think I've ever done revisions without chocolate in the house. It scares me to think about it.
Wishing you the smoothest of revisions! Thanks so much for stopping in. Great to hear from you!
Hey Christy! Hello everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a day! Is it just Tuesday? Oh well, at least it's Recommend Tuesday. :) I read a couple of older books this week - Squeeze Play by Kate Angell and Tell Me No Lies by Annie Solomon. Both were good for completely different reasons. Squeeze Play had me laughing out loud in places - a definite must this week. Right now I'm reading Larissa Ione's Desire Unchained. May have to give No Chance a Second Glance (yes, we're studying poetry this week at school) before Second Chance comes out. Whew...
I have the new Beverly Barton book in my 'on deck' pile (the short stack of books that have moved from the TBR mountain and are next to be read). I'd love to get my hands on Broken as well. :)
Hi Christy & fellow Reece's Peeces.
ReplyDeleteThe last week has been fun & exciting. Love the fave angle. Marc is Marc. No fair giving Julian a sexier last name lol.
Mary G,
ReplyDeleteI am strongly rooted in Marc's camp. Have you gotten into NE yet? Marc makes good use of Julian's last name. :)
Hi Kara
ReplyDeleteNo - haven't had a chance yet to get it. Only one store had it in stock & I was nowhere near there.
Hope to pick it up this weekend & actually read it. Going to tennis -talk to you all later.
Kara C - I didn't much take too kindly to Marc's new nickname for Julian. But, of course, boys will be boys! Got to admit Naked Edge is proving to be another winner! However, even though Gabe is another droolworthy contestant, he's not replacing Julian at the top of my I-Team series' heroes! I'm over half-way through the book and really enjoying this story.
ReplyDeleteJennifer - I picked up Shiloh Walker's "Broken" today -- am sooo glad to hear you liked it. After "Fragile" I wanted more of Quinn and thankfully he's arrived!
My little "Spiderman" just arrived (my 3-year old grandson) and is ready to climb some walls so I better run for now!
Everyone have a good evening. It's NCIS night and a new episode. Gotta get my weekly fix of Gibbs and his crew!
Hi Christy!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was a blast. Thanks for having Pamela visit .I can't wait to read her new book.
I read Lake Magic by Kimberly Fisk and Rumble on the Bayou by Jana Deleon last week.
This week I have your newest book to read :) & Kim Harrison's Black Magic Sanction. Oh and I have also started reading Stella Cameron's Out Of body.I have a feeling I won't finish the Stella Cameron book this week.
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteLOL I read your comment and thought to myself, "Hey, I know someone who has read those same books this week." Duh...it was you! Only Tuesday, but my brain is already disintegrating. Needs another weekend! :)
Hey everyone, been reading Robyn Carr's "Forbidden Falls". Someone by the name of KARA got me hooked and in turn I got my friend Gail hooked. I also had someone describe a great scene in the book "Honor's Spendor" by Julie Garwood and now I have to have that book. Could it have been Christy? YES! And reading here what Kara,Oklanannie, Mary G, Jennifer are saying I must remember to grab these awesome sounding books(and male characters) by Pamela Claire. I have had the best time with you guys here on Mondays(Tues). I have read some really good books and found some wonderful new authors to add to my list. Like Oklanannie, I must go now and watch my NCIS, I need by Gibbs fix too. He is still such a hunk! :)
ReplyDeleteJACKIE P -
ReplyDeleteLong time no chat. Hope all is well. If you haven't read Pamela Clare you MUST. All four I Team books are fantastic. When you finish, you can add to the debate about best hero. (The correct answer is Marc Hunter.) :)
I'm starting the newest Robyn Carr book tomorrow. Can't wait.
Oh, Christy I meant to ask. Are you doing book signings soon?
ReplyDeleteSnatch up the newest Robyn Carr's book yesterday and ended up also picking up I think 2 of the Grace Falls series? Gail hit 4 book stores trying to find all her books Saturday. :) LOL Will definately pick up Pamela Clare and I have made a note to myself that I am to be on the Marc Hunter team. :) LOL
ReplyDeleteHey Kara! Has it been a long week for you too? Tomorrow's hump day and then we'll be on the other side!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had some great reads last week. And giving NO CHANCE a second glance. Poetry, huh? I'll have to share a poem I wrote in college for theater class. I'll wait until you're through studying it this week. Too afraid of the grade you would give me! But it does rhyme. Maybe someday I'll turn it into a limerick. (:
Mary, seriously, with that ponytail? Julian's got to have a fancier name!
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle! Wow, you got some great reads to look forward to. (wink)
ReplyDeleteI've heard such great things about Lake Magic. I think from some of you guys. Not heard of Rumble on the Bayou. Is that a romantic suspense? Love the title!
Jackie, let me know what you think about Honor's Spendour. It's a once a year reread for me. I love a tender hero who's in denial. I've never closed that book without a smile and a sigh. (:
ReplyDeleteNo signings planned anytime soon, but I am going to Huntsville in a few weeks to speak with a ladies reading group. Is Huntsville anywhere close to you?
I don't know if it is closer or not. I will have to look.
ReplyDeleteBUT!!!! I am totally jealous of my hubby in a way. He gets to go to Bama (Auburn) in a couple of weeks for school. Now watch, with my luck, this is what will happen. You will get a call to do a book signing in a couple of weeks there in Bama. Like in Auburn...... :(
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading Show No Fear by Marliss Melton. This is the first book I've read from her. I know she writes a series about Navy Seals, but for some reason I started at the end instead of the beginning of the series.
Tomorrow, I'm going to pick up Naked Edge and Broken. Can't wait to read them.
Hi Christy
ReplyDeleteExactly - sexy name & a ponytail - unfair advantage LOL.
Kara - you're so funny: "correct answer is Marc". Is he still your fave after redaing NE?
Alexandra - I've loved all of Marliss Melton's books.
Just picked up Black Jack - Lora Leigh & Delicious by Shayla Black.
Oh,Marliss Melton. I have all of her SEALS books. That's another set of keepers I need to pull out and reread.
ReplyDeleteMary, Gabe is making being faithful quite difficult, but I will always be a Hunt fan. That book blew me away when I read it and was one of my very first keepers.
Christy, wait until I send you the haiku my little guy did at school today - in like 10 minutes. I'm thinking about putting it up several places around my house and work just to bring me a smile now and then. But I'd love to hear YOUR poem. Would it bring a smile as well? :)
Aw Kara
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read your son's poem.
I don't want to read Christy's limerick unless it starts with:
There was a guy from Nantucket".
Kara,
ReplyDeleteLOL !! It has been one of those week's !!! how many days til spring break?
Alexandra,
Show no Fear is a great book.I have read all of Marliss Melton's books.
Christy
Rummble on the Bayou reminds me a of Sandra Hill's Cajun series (Love Tante Lulu). It had me giggling in several places.
Ah yes, Mary. now I see your point on the name. (:
ReplyDeleteKara, thanks for sharing the haiku with me! I'll look forward to it!
LOL. I don't think my poem would make you smile. We had to perform in front of the class. Something creative. We got to choose. But just to give you an idea, the girl who came after me made fried ice cream. My professor seemed much more impressed with her performance than my poem. Sigh...outdone by fried ice cream. However, I still have it memorized and might just break out in poetry when I'm talking to you guys some day. Will warn you, though. We're talking sappy sweet. Imagine that!
LOL. And no, Mary, it won't start that way. Sorry! (:
Hey, everyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great time yesterday. Today has been a whirlwind, mostly because stuff at the paper is insanely busy. I'm still working, actually.
Christy, I saw a sight that made me smile! Your books were on the New Paperbacks table right out in front. And mine were RIGHT NEXT TO THEM on a "Selected Paperbacks" upright display. I snapped a photo of it with my cell phone but don't know how to get it off there. I could send it to your cell phone...
I have a question... Kara C, you've already read NE? Did I get that right? Did you inhale it? Huff it? Take it intravenously? I'm curious!
This Camp Julian/Camp Marc/Camp Gabe rivalry is pretty fun for me. Here's how it seems to work: the first I-Team hero you read is the one you love the most.
Maybe I should get T-shirts made. :-)
Oklanannie, Marc and Julian have quite the thing going on. Julian gets his digs in, too, so I hope the nicknames don't bother you too much. I laughed my behind off when I wrote them. But then my sense of humor generally slinks down the gutter along with the slime. LOL!
OK, back to editing boring pages from our Kids Camp guide. SNORE!
I'm a big fan of Marliss' books, too. I read Lori Foster's "Back in Black" over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteChristy and Pamela's books on the same shelf? Makes shopping SO much easier. LOL
ReplyDeletePamela, all of the above. I was able to get my own copy so Oklanannie didn't have to read it over the phone.
But your theory is wrong... I read all the books in order. And don't get me wrong - I love them all. Reece after all hooked up with KARA, Julian is, I admit, very, very hawt. I loved him even more after UC. He was so good to Sophie. But Marc is Marc. Sigh... Must admit, Gabe is way, way up there. What a guy. Maybe it means something that I cried over parts in both Marc's and Gabe's stories that makes them so special. I'd blame Christy because she has certainly turned me into a crybaby reader, but then I read UC before I knew her! Off to school. Hope everyone has a terrific day? Could it only really be Wednesday?
Hey Pamela, hope you had a wonderful release day!
ReplyDeleteWow, you saw NO CHANCE and NAKED EDGE side by side? Two Gabes and two sexy purple covers? Oh what a glorious sight!
FYI Christy
ReplyDeleteThere is a Huntsville, Ontario in Canada. Hope they send you here instead.
LOL. Mary, I'm planning a one day trip. Got a feeling if I end up in Huntsville, Canada, it's going to take more than one day.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I will admit, when I lived in Indiana, every time I tried to go to South Bend, Indiana, I always ended up in Michigan. So it wouldn't be the first time I ended up in the wrong place. Although I haven't yet gone to the wrong country yet. There's a first for everything I guess. (:
Congrads Christy...
ReplyDeleteOH My Gosh, I missed Monday and Tuesday.. Sorry.. Did not get a CHANCE to read much.... Daughter went to Doc. Monday for ultrasound and found out She is having a GIRL!! Just wanted to let you know... Have A Great Day!!
