Recommend Monday!

Good Morning All!

Did you have a good week and weekend? Read anything fabulous you can't wait to tell us about?

I spent most of last week working on SWEET JUSTICE copyedits. Finished up yesterday and will be mailing them today. Yay! And I've posted an excerpt of SWEET JUSTICE, so be sure to give it a quick read and let me know what you think. It's the first half of the first chapter and Seth and Honor are not having a very good day. (:

I'm headed to the Romantic Times Convention in LA next week. If you're going to be there, be sure to drop by the signing on Saturday, April 9 and say "Hey!" I'll be signing all three of the 2010 CHANCE books.

This week I'm playing catch-up and doing all the things that get put aside when I'm on deadline. I'm really hoping to see the surface of my desk by the end of the week! Also, if you've recently won a book from me here or on Facebook or Twitter, it's going in the mail today. Sorry for the delay!

Operation Auction is up and running. Lots of great prizes to be bid on, so be sure to check it out! Here's the link for my donation, which includes signed copies of all six books in the LCR series:

I don't have any finished recommends for you today, but I will tell you what books I'm reading and enjoying: I'm about halfway through Something About You by Julie James. Great read! Also, Her Valentine Family, which is by a new Harlequin Love Inspired author, Renee Andrews. Thoroughly enjoying this one also-different take on the secret baby theme!

Okay, that's it for me. I'm offline much of this week, but if you have any questions, email me at christy@christyreece.com or message me on Facebook or Twitter and I'll get back with you as soon as I can.

Hope everyone has an absolutely awesome week! Now, tell us what we should be reading!

  1. Hi Christy,
So happy to be getting closer and closer to the release dates!! I love having things to look forward to!

I think I said last week I was reading Icebreaker by Deirdre Martin. It was a fun read that I really enjoyed. I've also finished Julia London's Light at Winter's End, Beth Ciotta's Out of Eden and Into the Wild and Susan Donovan's The Night She Got Lucky and Not That Kind of Girl. I really enjoyed all these books alot and I'm also very happy to be back into a reading groove!!!

  2. Hi everyone!

Last week I tried a new author for me Toni Blake. I read the first 3 books in her Destiny series: One Reckless Summer, Sugar Creek, and Whisper Falls and really enjoyed them.

I'm currently reading Julia London's Light at Winter's End and enjoying it!

I hope everyone has a great week!

  5. Happy Monday!
I actually read quite a bit last week...which would explain why nothing else got done (besides taking care of my sick guys...who I'm happy to say are on the mend!)
Pamela Clare rec'd a new to me author Norah Wilson so I read her Serve & Protect trilogy (with a novella NEEDING NITA being a free read) and enjoyed them very much. They were fast reads, set in Canada, which added a cool twist to the law & order aspect of the series. While reading that I also read SB's BREAKING THE RULES, which was another fast read, very much in the same vein as the most recent TS books.

  6. I read Lariassa Ione's new book Eternal Rider. It's the first in a new series which is an offshoot of her Demonica series about the Four Horsemen of the Appcalypse. Really, really good read.

I also read all 3 of Kat Martin's Raines brothers books, Against The Wind, Against The Fire and Against The Law.

I am now waiting for my new JR Ward to arrive!

  8. Hi Everyone!
Christy that excerpt of SWEET JUSTICE makes me guessing about the real reason for Seths arrest - I have some ideas and it will be interesting to see if I got the right one.I hope I will remember them when the book finally is released.

Last week I read Almost home by Mariah Stewart and it wa a quick pleasant read.
I also started with S. Brockmanns Breaking the Rules but I must confess, that I didn´t finish it jet.Although I looked very much forward to Izzies story it didn´t really grip me so far. But I will continue.

    Have a great week everyone!

  10. Hey ladies...we had Spring Break last week, so you would think I got a lot of reading done. BUT, I had both boys home since the hubby is a teacher. So we did some family type stuff.

I did get a few books read that I would recommend.

Forbidden Falls - Robyn Carr - Virgin River Series...I am still plugging along on that series and I still love it.

Against the Law - Kat Martin - I loved this book the most of the 3....

Into the Fire - Suzanne Brockmann - still working my way towards Izzy. I liked this one a lot, getting back to the troubleshooters and less...well lets just say less!!

Have a great week every one!!!

  11. I managed to get a few books finished in the last week -- I read Watson Bros by Lori Foster, Giving Chase by Lauren Dane, Soul Deep by Lora Leigh, Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force and 'm about 3/4 way through Highlander in Her Bed by Allie Mackay. Liked them all!! Also saw the Blasters in concert last night, so got some great music this week too!!

  12. I'm reading through Lora Leigh's Tempting Seals and Elite Ops at the mo - sadly in the wrong order.

Was rather shocked when my Goodreads account told me I have read 41 books already this year!!! I have a full-time job and 3 kids but I guess I do take my Kindle everywhere with me...

    Still, feeling a tad guilty!!

  13. I have to find a way to post without looking at the comments. My shopping list is endless!!
I read a Virgin River novella by Robyn Carr. Only one left to find.

The Homecoming - by Joann Ross.

    Angels' Rest - Emily March
Loved this one so much, I'm now reading Hummingbird Lake. While they are not the usual erotic, sexy hot stuff I'm used to, they are wonderful, romantic and warm.

  14. Hey Alison! Don't you love it when you discover new to you authors and can glom all their books? Toni Blake is a favorite around here. I've heard very good things about Julia London's Light at Winter's End and wow, what an awesome title!

    Have a great week!

  15. Hey Kari! I've been hearing great things about Izzy's book. Enjoy!

Hope you have a great week!

  16. Ronlyn, glad your men are on the mend! I will definitely add Norah Wilson to my to-buy list. When PC recommends a book, I listen. (:

Have a great week and hope your guys stay healthy!

  17. Hey TigMode! I've not read any Larissa Ione books. Are they all paranormal? If one was to begin reading her, which book would be the best place to start?

And Kat Martin's trilogy is definitely on my TBR pile. Heard so many good things about this new trilogy.

Enjoy the latest JR Ward book!

    Have a great week!

  18. Hey Jackie! Glad you enjoyed the latest T'shooter book! And hope you enjoy the next JR Ward book. At some point, very soon, I have got to get on the bandwagon and read these books!

    Have a great week!

  19. Hey Elke! I can't wait to hear if what you think about Seth's arrest is the real reason. It's explained fairly early in the book, so you won't have to wait long to find out.

I adore Mariah Stewart and have heard that her new series is so good. I have them but haven't started them yet. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

    Have a great week!

  20. Hey Chilosa2004! A Taste of Desire sounds good! Don't think we've had that recommended before so will definitely had that to our growing list. And The Heiress sounds great too! Thanks for the recommends!

    Have a great week!

  21. Hey Hope! I love how you love series. (: And not having much time to read and still able to recommend three books is awesome!

    Have a great week!

  22. Hey Shelly! Wow, that's quite a list of great reads! Thanks for the recommends but I have to ask an embarrassing question. Who are the Blasters? I'm so behind on my music! Glad to hear you enjoyed them though.

    Have a great week!

  23. Hey Becs G! 41 books for the year is awesome, but don't feel guilty about that. I would love to have read 41 books this year as opposed to my measly 12 or so. And I agree about the Kindle or any e-reader. Taking it with you makes it so much easier to read while you're out and about. If one book isn't doing it for you, you can go to another. Though that one click purchasing is dangerous!

And reading series out of order can be frustrating but from what I remember about most of LL Elite Ops books, many are stand alone even within the series.

    Have a great week!

  24. Hey Mary G! Oh, I've heard good things about Emily March's books. Glad to hear you enjoyed them. Adding them to the list that is now taller than my house! (:

    Have a great week!

  25. Better late than never, right? Yesterday was our first day back at school from Spring Break AND my wedding anniversary, so I was a tad busy. However, I wanted to tell ya'll about a new to me author whose book I'm reading and really, really enjoying. In fact, I think this may be her first book. Her name is Leslie Tentley and the book is Midnight Caller. Romantic suspense, real characters, dark secrets, a bit of Criminal Minds profiling, all set in New Orleans. Love it so far. I'll report back when I'm finished.

  26. Happy Anniversary Kara!!

    Mine is tomorrow. 10 years!

Am late here too. Have a very busy fortnight ahead so i doubt I will read much.

This week however, I finished Robyn Carr's latest Virgin River Trilogy. The first two were too wordy and descriptive for me but Harvest Moon I enjoyed a lot.

I also finished Monica McCarty's first three Highland Guard books - my goodness I loved them!!! Cannot wait for the rest to be out. They left me with Highlander withdrawal and I sadly did not have another Highlander book in my TBR piles.

I am reading Anne Mallory's Seven Secrets of Seduction but its slow going for me so i will probably start another book in the meantime. I need something that really hooks me.

  27. Hey Kara! Happy Anniversary! Hope you did something fun. Hubby and I were talking the other day that we don't celebrate our anniversaries like we used to. We need to change that!

Thank you for the recommend. You had me at romantic suspense, but then add debut author, New Orleans and my favorite show Criminal Minds and I'm definitely getting that book!

    Have a great week!

  28. Hey Luci! Happy 10th anniversary! Hope you celebrate big!

So glad you enjoyed Monica McCarty's books. She's one of my favorites too. I'm having dinner with her next week and will tell her what you said. (:

    Have a great week!
