Recommend Monday and SWEET Giveaway Day Thirteen!

Good Monday All!

How was your week and weekend? Do anything fabulously fun? Read anything incredible? If so, share with us here!

I spent most of my week and weekend giving SWEET REWARD one final polish. In a couple of hours, Jared and Mia will be headed to NYC. Please wish them well!

This week is catch-up week for me. All those things that get put on the back burner when I'm on deadline are now on a giant 'must do' list. Will be a very busy week.

Thanks again to everyone who has emailed me or sent messages via Facebook or Twitter telling me that you enjoyed SWEET JUSTICE. I so appreciate your kind words and I'm thrilled you enjoyed Seth and Honor's story! If possible, would you do me a favor and leave a review at your favorite review site? I would sincerely appreciate it! And for those of you who have already left reviews, thank you!

Anyone notice what happens two weeks from tomorrow? If you said that SWEET REVENGE will be released, you were right! Wow, seems like I've been waiting for this day forever. I can't wait for you to read Jamie and Dylan's story. I fell in love with both of them during the writing of their book and sincerely hope that you love them, too!

In fact, I love them so much, I feel the need for a very SWEET giveaway! Would you like to win a signed copy of SWEET REVENGE? If so, all you have to do for a chance to win is do what comes natural here on Monday--recommend a great book for us to read. I'll collect comments and will announce the winner on tomorrow's blog.

So, come on and share a book recommendation and get your name in for a very SWEET prize!

Happy Monday everyone!

  2. Hey Christy! I am so excited for Jared and Mia to get to NY that just means it is on the fast track to my hands. :)

Last week I had a couple rereads. I read The Cowboy again and Sweet Justice. I had to go through and highlight some of my favorite lines in the book for the bookclub coming up. I have so many highlighted I'll have to basically reread the book when I go through the highlights.
I also read the Immortal Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. I am hopelessly addicted to this series.
Hope everyone has a fabulous week!!

  3. Yay!!! 2 more weeks!!! I cannot wait.

Getting back into the groove of school/dance/soccer/gymnastics/andeverythingelse put a real crimp in my reading last week. I read Christie Craig, Don't Mess with Texas and SEP's Call Me Irresistible. Thoroughly enjoyed both.

  4. Iron House by John Hart.

  5. I just finished "No Turning Back" by Kaylea Cross. It was really good. Now I am working on Bound by Darkness by Alexis Morgan and I am loving it. Can't believe that there are only 2 weeks left until Jared & Mia!! Can't wait! I am looking forward to everyone's recommends today - I need one more book for my amazon.com cart to take full advantage of their 4 for 3 deals!!

  6. I read Bound by Moonlight by Nancy Gideon. The genre is paranormal thriller suspense and #4 in Moonlight series, can be read stand alone, but better to read from the first. I really love this book, so much heart breaking moment and fact that live always continues and there more obstacles even the main character already have their HEA

  7. Good morning to all! Christy, I'm glad Jared and Mia are off to NYC! Can't wait until they find their way to OKLAHOMA!!

Last week I read J.D. Robb's "New York to Dallas." This addition was an emotional book to read. It also made me realize how important the secondary cast is to the In Death series. I really enjoyed NYtoD and would recommend it highly. Loyal followers of the series will definitely be ready for the next one when Eve and Roarke will be back on home turf among their friends and co-workers.

I also finished up Nora Roberts's "MacKade Brothers" series. I can't believe it has taken me so long to finally read it. Published in the mid-90s, it's definitely dated but a really good series and one I would also recommend.

So, I'm moving from Nora and Robb to some historicals this week.

Enjoy a great week of reading everyone!

  8. Hi Christy, hi everyone!
I am back from our very relaxing vacation in Denmark. Although the weather was not the best we enjoyed it very much. Our cabin was only 4oo m from the beach and walking with our dog there every morning without other people to be seen was fantastic.

Christy I will need some time to catch up with your blog. Congratulations for the release of Sweet Justice .
I started reading it just yesterday afternoon and can´t wait to finish it - it is really a great book and you were right - I did pat me on my back abit for my guess about the reason for Seth`s arrest.

I managed to read nearly all books I took with me to Denmark , so I have quite a few recommendations .
    I read:
    Snapped by Laura Griffin
Chasing Fire, Welcomming and The MacKade Brothers, all by Nora Roberts
Crash into me by Jill Sorensen
    Kept by Jami Alden
    Deadly sins by Kylie Brant
Deadly Promises (the Stories by Cindy Gerard and Laura Griffin )
    Deep Disclosure by Dee Davis
and finally 61 Hours by Lee Child.

I liked all of them, but my favs are Snapped,Crash into me, Deep Disclosure and Deadly sins.

61 Hours was also a very good read although there was no real romance going on other than via telephone but I must confess the end did disturb me a little .

So thats it from me for now- I have some grocery shopping to do .

    Have a great week everyone!

  9. Hi Christy!
My weekend was pretty boring...I had to work on Saturday. BOO!

Jane, I read Breaking Free a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it too! Can't wait for more books from Teresa Reasor!

I've on a bit of a historical kick recently. This past week I read and really enjoyed Anna Campbell's Untouched, Claiming the Courtesan, and Captive of Sin.

    Have a good week everyone!

  10. Well last week I finished, Never Enough by lauren Dane. Book 4 in the Brown Sibling's series. I would have to recommend all 4 books in this series.
    1)Laid Bare
    2)Coming undone
    3)Inside Out
    4)Never Enough
This whole series was just incredible!!

  11. I'm trying to remember what I've read this week...everything is blurring together for me lately.
I've been on a contemp kick and have enjoyed some older Susan Anderson stories as well as some Susan Mallery.
The books I just picked up this weekend though because I've been obsessing about them recently are the Sign of Seven trilogy by Nora Roberts. I love this trilogy for whatever reason...and it's CREEPY! ~shudder~ But I've flown through those this weekend.

  12. Had a wonderful weekend. My Mom and Dad came and we had such a good time. I realized that before I read J.D.Robb New York to Dallas that I was behind on one, so I checked out Treachery in Death and read it. I always love her books. If there are any of your followers that have never read this series, I think they would enjoy it. But I can't want for Sweet Revenge to come out. I so loved Sweet Justice. I will probably re-read it, just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

  13. Loved The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred. Learned it's okay to say what you want about a person as long as you end it with "bless their heart'. You Southern girls are brilliant!! LOL.

I devoured Sweet Justice. It was so incredible. Sean is a pretty amazing hero. At first I was frustrated with him, that he could just give up everything like that. As I read the book, I realized what a special person he was. It reminded me of all heroes that do what most us can't or won't do.

I loved that he realized that the victims not having anything in common was the commonality. He was just wow & Honor was perfect for him.

  14. I read two new paranormal romances, that made it to my favorite's shelf.

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison and Reaper's Justice by Sarah McCarty

  15. Hey all!

Well, I have been on nurse duty for the last 7 days so I only read one book. My son has been so sick and it is wearing me out. He had adenovirus which made him have tonsillitis and now he has a small case of bronchitis, but, thankfully, he is doing sooo much better! Poor kid missed his first full week of kindergarten, but it looks like he may be able to go back tomorrow.

The book I read was a Historical Romance book called Barely A Lady by Eileen Dreyer. It is not a bodice ripper kind of book. It's a story of love, loss, deceit and redemption. It wasn't a favorite read but I did like it enough that I can not wait to read the next one, Never A Gentleman.

I was finally able to start Sweet Justice last night. I am only about 80 pages in and I like it a lot so far. :)

I hope everyone has a great week!

  19. Hey Christy,

I have no idea why my copy of SWEET JUSTICE hasn't arrived yet :(. I got lots of books from the post office but it wasn't one of them. Have another two postage papers I received over the weekend so fingers crossed the book is among the packages I collect - i did pre-order! Looking on the bright side I will get to read the first two books back to back.

I am reading a new author to me - Vonda Sinclair. The Fierce Highlander - am halfway through and enjoying it so its my rec of the week.

  20. I've been reading a lot of historicals and I'll recommend Sarah MacLean's "Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart" and "Ten Ways To Be Adored When Landing a Lord."

  21. Hello everyone....Christy, so excited we are only 2 weeks away. I can't WAIT!!!

Last week, I had quite a few good reads. Kris brought a new author up next week, so I picked up her new book. Dee A Davis' Dangerous Race...pretty good read.

I also finished Victoria Dahl's Good Girls Don't. The start of a new trilogy. Very cute contemporary.

Lets see...also there was Wedding Survivor by Julia London. This is a rerelease, but it was new to me and I really liked it. The lead character was sassy, and I liked it.

    Have a GREAT week everyone.

  22. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley.
    I loved that book!

  23. I highly recommend Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh (although it's best to start from the beginning of the series, with Slave to Sensation). The Psy/Changeling series is one of the very best paranormal romance series I've ever read!

I'm currently reading "A Discovery of Witches" and it's really growing on me. In fact I'm loving it. It looks like a daunting big book at first but already I am not want it to end! It is paranormal but it's different from the ones I usually read.

  32. Hi everyone! Wow, what a great Recommend Monday we had! So sorry I missed it! The weather suddenly changed here and my head (which is much better than the weatherman to determine that rain is on the way) almost exploded with a migraine. I'm still kind of reeling today, but hoping the worst is over.

I'll try to come back this afternoon and respond to your comments, but I didn't want to delay the giveaway or today's SWEET Fourteen giveaway.

Congrats to Deb! She is the winner of a signed copy of SWEET REVENGE! Deb, please send your mailing address to christy@christyreece.com and I'll get the book out to you soon.

Everyone else, please come on over for day 14 in just a few minutes. Two giveaways today!
